Somewhat out of boredom, I downloaded and watched Eureka Seven: Pocketful of Rainbows (or if you like, "Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers"-- which is a bit of a spoiler to the film's theme, but oh well). This uses many of the same characters as the television show, only the plot and ba...

If it were 10 years ago and if you were living across the Bay from San Francisco, I would've recommended Rasputin's in Berkeley.

But I don't do VHS anymore (the tapes degrade with multiple playings, cheap tapes or cheap machines), so I'm fresh out of ideas...

I must have watched the same recording of Summer Wars as Kimiko, but then I didn't want a big honkin' file on my increasingly crowded disk. Good stuff, and I can't wait for it to be licensed. New season. Reviews, previews. Let's go. (Still watching: Railgun , Kimi ni Todoke , Tegami-bachi , InuYasha...

@Tekka: You're correct on the basic circumstances (Riesz in the party but Hawkeye absent), but I'm pretty sure Riesz is temporarily "activated" when you find Hawkeye in the castle.

Finished Basquash! , and leaving aside the blatant advertising littered through it, it started with a certain amount of promise, but then fell into the hole of beating a dead horse and trying to make things link in or stretch to extents that they just can't. I guess kinda like the Matrix trilogy in...

Hah! Well, I get the last laugh, because the Moto Droid and SNESoid is awesome.

Yeah, it's not a remake, but still, up yours Square!

They have... 4 games for mobile phone in the NA market. All of them for iPhone/iPod, all of them "casual games" (as far as I can tell).

I'm pretty sure they won't bother, they never did take their own fans' opinions very seriously.

Negima!? - Is this the version that's not so fanservicey/ecchi? Whoa, character overload o_o It's just like Pani Poni Dash , with Becky replaced by Negi and all the students put in one class. And it's just as great and funny too :) Ep. 19 is so adorable! ^_^ If the last few eps. don't mess it up, t...

Well, if the grid layout was a weakness, then WC2 would never have been popular. For that matter, neither would Starcraft or any other C&C game of that time-- all of them were grid-based, but Blizzard and Westwood always did a great job of hiding it. The fact is, an RTS using Brownie Brown's eng...

Wasn't White Album based on an H-game? But whatever, I can't take any more White Album, the first season drove me mad with its drama and self destructive idiocy. Definitely going to skip it. -_- It's a visual novel; the only resemblance to a "game" is that the player clicks on it. It's es...

Okay, fall season 2009. A (strong start / high expectation): Kimi ni todoke (May it reach you): At first glance, this is the story of the human equivalent to Jonathan Coulton's "Creepy Doll"... okay, maybe not that bad. But closer inspection reveals an insanely sweet love story in the maki...

There's still a week left this season, but what the hey, most of the shows I've been watching are done... Yoku wakaru gendai mahou ("Modern magic for beginners") - I'm told this is based on a light novel series about a girl who can use only one kind of magic-- the kind that turns any other...
