Re: Trouble getting into Final Fantasy--what games do you li

I'm honestly not sure the series is for me. I respect it for what it did, but I need a break from it. I may try to rent or borrow one of the DS games since I may appreciate a solid remake and not just a glossy fresh coat of new, colorful pixels, but we'll see. That's perfectly fine, even the most p...

Re: Voice Acting quality - Does it make or break the game?

Voices can certainly be either annoying or well-done, but voice acting doesn't make nor break a game. Though, being the Nintendo fanboy that I am, I'd be happy to see voice acting of any quality in the games I play. Final Fantasy IV on the DS epitomizes my opinion on this. Some of the voices are per...

Re: Pets

Instead of making a new topic, I thought I might as well post here. My cat died earlier today. I've foreseen this two years prior, so it wasn't as horrible as I had prognosticated, but it's still awfully hard to adapt to this, even though I have three other cats. The concept of this is a bit difficu...

Re: Photos of yourself!

I would post my picture but I feel really young compared to everyone here. '~' And then there's the fact that the most recent picture of myself is me hiding partially behind my cat. Don't ask. @Kirby: I'd be lying if I said that I fully comprehended what you just said, But okay! @CaraBanana: Your pi...

Re: Cave Story

You play through the regular story as her. The only difference is that she isn't silent like Quote is. Usually when she speaks to Quote, she just implies that he's talking to her. He does speak for himself at times, but only about twice in the game, if I remember correctly.

Re: Cave Story

RIght then, well, I can forget about the PC version, but I may look at the Wii version when it comes out. I read it's Wikipedia article, it DOES kind of remind of Cave Story with the more-than-8-bit-but-not-quite-16-bit graphics.

Re: Cave Story

Oh, it's on the PSP? I didn't know, I thought this was it's first non-PC release.
The updated graphics are certainly nice. The new music wasn't good, though, due to the whole drum track disabling.

LaMulana? I can't say I'm familiar with it.

Cave Story

It's so inactive as of late... Hopefully that will be fixed by Summer. Anyway, has anyone here played Cave Story? It was a popular game on a site I used to go to, and now that it's been released on WiiWare, I thought it would be a perfect chance to try it out. Obviously, it's a great game. Pretty li...

Re: Mana Bracelet?

Also, seeing as there is no description for the item, and given the lack of any negative counter-effect at all, it is conceivable that this is a debug item (I know that CoM has them, I can't remember if HoM does or not, I'm just that spacey at the moment). ...I couldn't have predicted that. But, I ...

Re: Mana Bracelet?

Mm-hmm... Yes, I assumed that extreme measures may have been needed to acquire it. My guess is that it may be a reward for getting a grade of "S" on the final battle against Anise. All chapters getting an "S" is a possibility, but doing that would require god-like luck and prowess. Thanks for at lea...

Re: [SD3] Your Notes and Thoughts on Teams

My first playthrough was with Duran, Angela, and Hawkeye. For the time, I was quite satisfied with my team. Duran could wield shields and Heal Light worked wonders, Angela is simply a must-have for any Seiken Densetsu 3 team, and Hawkeye is just awesome . My second playthrough, I heard that Hawkeye ...

Re: In the beginning . . .

Yeah I think the Holy Land in SD3 is in a different "world", but I think that might only be due to limitations of Mode 7? The Holy Land is surrounded by clouds, so maybe it's just supposed to be floating way up high in the sky? You couldn't pull that off with Mode 7 so maybe they opted for a portal...
