Re: What games are you playing?

I disagree. I think the coins are great. I mean, they are far more useful than in Super Mario Kart and they create a bit of risk vs. reward. Do you stick the the racing line or do you adjust and grab a coin? Can you stay in the lead without the speed boost they give you for another lap? Can you make...

Re: Stopping by to say hi and catch up

Ha ha! Thanks! Let's see, today I was playing the Splatoon demo. I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors most recently. I've got a ton of games between the eShop and physical releases, so I have been pretty much playing plain LOTS! Physical games: Batman: Arkham City Armored Edit...

Re: 3DS XL

Yeah, I agree that the intent is testing out some mobile ideas. I haven't picked up the New 3DS XL yet. I'm not 100% positive that I will. I still love my Link Between Worlds Special Edition 3DS XL and there are SO many games out that I want or am planning to get that I'm not sure the money's there....

Re: What games are you playing?

I'm really enjoying Mario Kart 8. I was since the beginning but now that the newest DLC is out and 200cc is live, I'm rocking that the most. I also got platinum status for Club Nintendo this year and chose Mario Kart 7 as my reward. I'm playing that now as well. Also, I regularly keep up with Animal...

Re: Stopping by to say hi and catch up

Thanks, Kefka! Yes, it has been really good. But just so you don't think all is roses over here, just this week I got shingles and our furnace gave out. So, I'll be trudging through that for a little while.

Anyway, how are you? Good things going on, I hope?

Re: 3DS XL

Well, I'm still playing New Leaf every day. That game is addictive. I still love the system and am enjoying each new game on it. And some of the new microtransaction games are actually pretty good and don't feel exploitative. Still, I hope we don't see Nintendo go down the same route all the rest ar...

Stopping by to say hi and catch up

Hello everyone, It's been a while, hasn't it? Despite my best efforts, I sort of fell off the face of the earth 'round these parts. Anyway, things are going well on my end. My retro gaming collection has grown considerably and I am nearing completion of my A list which includes all the games and sys...

Re: 3DS XL

I love it! I've beaten it once and now I'm working through it in Hero Mode. I think it's really well done and one of my favorite Zelda games, for sure. And yes, I love my wife. :)

Smooth McGroove Into the Thick of It

If you haven't seen this guy before, let me recommend him. And at the very least check out his performance of my favorite video game song ever. Smooth McGroove nails it!

Re: 3DS XL

Finally have my own! This November I had a milestone birthday and my wife bought me the Zelda special edition 3DS XL. She gave it to me via a note of its preorder that was made to look like a golden Triforce. That was put in a chest that she made and painted and added a contraption that plays the ch...

Re: Mobile phone gaming

I second Tiny Thief. Great game! I currently use my iPhone 4S and got an iCade Mobile for Christmas. I know the iOS 7 controllers are making their way to market but there are plenty of iCade games and the device is loads cheaper and for my money, a better form factor. I've been playing Mos Speedrun,...

Re: The Hobbit

Well, I enjoyed the second movie far more than the first. I took issue with a lot in the first installment and one or two points in particular I felt very strongly about. It may have been easier for me to appreciate this second installment because so much was pure Jackson fabrication. Also, despite ...

Re: A Link Between WOWS!!!!

Yes, I totally agree. This game is brilliant. It's extremely well made and compelling in every way. I was a bit skeptical after seeing some trailers but it turns out that I didn't have anything to worry about. I'm working through my second playthrough using Hero Mode and the added challenge and the ...
