Good read, but strangely doesn't mention the fan translation nor the prequel of sorts Heroes of Mana.

SoM video review by yours truly
So I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this or not, but I'm the Editor over at Zelda Universe and besides my usual editing responsibilities, I also do a lot of stuff for their YouTube channel, but I found I wanted to talk about some of my favorite non-Zelda games, so I started a series called "...

"A Look Back at Secret of Mana"
Glowing praise and a nice read... up until they say "with a powerful score by Kenji Ito." Wow, way to do your homework, guys.

It's nice to see people remembering SoM fondly on these current gaming sites.

Ishii integral to first Final Fantasy
http://www.1up.com/news/hironobu-sakaguchi-final-fantasy-roller-coaster Turns out he was the one who got Aomono to do the character designs. Also he was responsible for creating the Chocobos and Moogles, and the idea for the Crystals. Sakaguchi says this interesting thing about him: "He had thi...

Re: Secret of Mana SNES and iOS Comparison
I gave up playing this months ago because I just couldn't get used to the touch screen. Maybe if it was on an iPad (and I had an iPad) it would be easier, but having a d-pad and buttons on such a small screen with my fingers constantly obscuring the screen... and not being able to move with precisio...

Re: 20 Disc soundtrack unboxing
It's torture for me too, because I still haven't purchased it. I want it so bad. Mainly for the orchestral medley. And the interviews... but I bet the interviews won't have English subtitles... so that might be pointless.

Ishii doing more Zelda
Grezzo was the studio behind the 3Ds remake of Ocarina of Time (to critical acclaim) and now they're back on board for more Zelda as the studio behind the Four swords Anniversary Edition for the 3Ds and DsI, including a great deal more stages (which each pay homage to the older Zelda games). http://...

Re: Final Fantasy Adventure article on Destructoid
I was also shocked. I mean... I haven't even ever played a SNES or N64 or GameCube era game that made you actually kill your friend. I was floored when that happened. And the article's author is right, it's made all the more powerful by having you actually do the button press to make that horrible e...

Mana is sure getting some love lately. Destructoid wrote a lovely article about how surprisingly emotional this gem of GameBoy game was.

The Greatest Franchise Nose-Dives
http://www.gamepro.com/article/features/221443/the-greatest-franchise-nosedives/ Interesting article and extremely true (I think) which discusses Mana as one of the great franchises that plummeted to abysmal depths. I wish it went into a bit more detail about the cause (in my opinion, Ishii's focus ...

Random SE trivia about SD2
Some fun facts from Sqeenix staff: "Tokida (Takashi Tokita, Producer and Director for things like the DS remakes of FFIII and FFIV and the sequel to FFIV as well as FF: 4 Heroes of Light) also shared a top secret episode from the time of Seiken Densetsu 2's development. He was working on a diff...

Re: just a thought
<t>@ ReasonsUnknown Totally, I get it. However, have you actually played Line Attack Heroes? I was watching a clip on YouTube of four dudes playing it and... it kinda looked like it might be fun.<br/> <br/> But I agree that it seems Ishii is way too focused on "INOVATING" rather than making FUN game...
