Nuts, I haven't thought of that. Hopefully, there will be some kind of break through in space science and technology that will enable us to get there somehow. Armed to the teeth of course! If there's any intelligent lifeforms, we'll show them the might of humans by wipeing them out and takeing their planet for ourselfs! Mwa, ha, ha! *goes mad* Nah, I'm just kidding, but really, this is very interesting.

@Sheexy: Well, to everyone's credit, new thrusters have been developed and tested recently, by the British, I think? Ion Thrusters, I believe. :-P
Though I have no recollection of how effective they're supposed to be...

Anyway, yeah, I've been living on a friend's couch for the past week or so... so that kinda counts as another planet! ^-^;

-_-;

I need to get out more.

Wasen't it the U.S? The U.S, Japan, Russia and China seem to be making the most progress in the field of space travel. Canada, England and others as well may also be helping, but the 3 I mentioned seem to be doing the most work and are progressing the most in developing new technologies in space travel. They really need to start trying to get to Mars and elsewhere.

I could be wrong, but this is what I've heard from the web and T.V. The newspaper and radio don't really seem to talk about this all to much anymore. What is it with bored people these days? No one seems to care about space travel anymore. This reminds me of that Simpsons espisode.

Oh I think you'll find there's a lot going on behind the scenes.
There are scientists who dedicate their lives to this stuff.

But it's not a central focus - presumably because there really are more important things than space travel. The state of our own planet, for example. ;)
