So I'm awaiting Dissidia: Final Fantasy with bated breath (but not too much, as I still have a rather large backlog of games to get through) and I have a thought: seeing as the game is called Dissidia: Final Fantasy and NOT Final Fantasy: Dissidia (HEAR THAT, INTERNET!?), Dissidia could become it's own series, encompassing S-E's other series as well.

I did have a whole big explanation about it, but I'm a bit pressed for time so I'll just leave the bare essentials for now:

Story/Setting: Basically the same as D:FF, except Cosmos and Chaos are replaced by the Mana Goddess and the Lord of Mavolia (the only recurring "evil place" in the series) respectively.

Character Roster:

Main
Sword: Hero & Stroud
Secret: Randi & Thanatos
SD3: Duran & Darkshine Knight/Dragon Emperor
Legend: Hero & (...)Sandra(?)
Children: Ferrik & Mana Lord
Dawn: Keldric & Stroud
Heroes: Roget & Baxilios
Friends: ??? & ??? (??????)

Unlockable
Sword: Heroine & Julius
Secret: Purim & Vandole
SD3: Kevin & Deathjester/Masked Mage
Children: Tamber & Wanderer
Dawn: Lekius & Masked Guru
Heroes: Yurchael and Inath
Friends: ?????????

I'm against this idea. =(

But if it were to happen, Guren would need to be on your list. And if there was going to be a Thanatos I would strike off the Masked Mage since there's no point in having two or more copies of the Dark Lich. Deathjester and Guren are essential however.

Make it so.

This is an absolutely horrid idea. That is all.

Well, the idea's pretty fun. I do disagree on a good number of your selections =P. I don't really know how Dissida works, but I assume one hero and one villain from each game as starters and then another set for unlockables?

FFA/Sword: Hero and Julius

Secret: Randi and Thanatos

SD3: Lise and Bigeau

Legend: Daena and Irwin

Children: Wanderer and Mana Lord

Dawn: Keldric and Stroud

Heroes: Roget and Baxillios

Unlockables

FFA/SwoM: Watts and Glaive/Stroud

Secret: Popoi and Geshtar

SD3: Kevin and Deathjester/Goremand

Legend: Elazul and Sandra + Jewel Eaters

Children: Moti and Scion of Mana

Dawn: Lekius and Masked Guru

Heroes: Uhh...... I guess I'll go with yours. It's been way too long since I've played that.

And just for fun:

FFA/Sword: Willy's Dead Body and CountLee (no space intentional =D)

Secret: Grampa and Neko (his prices are killer enough to make him a bad guy)

SD3: Don Perigon and well, Don Perigon. The guy was both annoying and helpful so he fills
both categories.

Legend: Niccolo and those two Chobin Hoods in his first event.

Children: Grampa Tony and Pete. Pete doesn't do anything at all in the village. He's
probably a bad guy plotting something.

Dawn: Flammie with her laser beams and Grim Treant.

Heroes: Hawkeye and Zombie Booskaboos.

What is the Dissidia game like?

I've honestly never heard of it.

Fighting games. Dissidia: FF is a Final Fantasy fighting game and now Namco has done the same thing with the Tales series with Tales of VS.

Ah, I see, thanks.

I dunno about a real hardcore fighting game for the Mana series, I don't know how well that would fit the game style (though I dunno how hardcore Dissidia is either).

Personally I've always wished there would be a Smash Bros. style Mana game.

I really think they should just leave it alone. Seiken Densetsu has almost no dignity left, let the sleeping dog lie. Let it rest in peace.

Yeah, I wasn't really being serious about wanting the Smash Bros. type game to really happen, just meaning I think it'd fit the series better than a serious fighter.

I think they need to keep the series kind of cold for a while and then maybe bring back a remake of Secret of Mana if they want to bring it back. Delving into another genre would just weaken the series even more than the dungeon crawling, whatever DoM could be called and RTSing that the last three games introduced.

Dissidia is supposed to be alot like Kingdom Hearts fighting style. But I would only add from Nick's list: Larc, Sierra, and Drakonis from LOM. Though to me, Deathbringer seemed the most sinister out of all the baddies from LOM.

Oh! And they'd have to have a Lucemia battleground!

Actually,

If it were a little fan game or something put up on M.U.G.E.N, I'd play a Mana inspired fighting game. As a matter of fact, if anyone's been watching this:

Card Gallery

There are some Mana characters involved! Yay!

Peace,
