Sword of Mana replica for $5k on eBay

I was browsing GoNintendo and they had a post about an eBay auction for the Sword of Mana replica for $5k. I wish I had an extra five thousand. :(

She's a beaut, Clark. Not that I'm in the market for such a thing (and not that I think it's worth 5K no matter who ordered it) but a potential buyer better make sure that the proper provenance is with the sword before buying it. A picture of a box that was addressed to Nintendo is not documentation by any stretch of the imagination (sorry, that rhymed).

Still a very cool thing, though. I'd pay 2K if I could swim in my money bank like Scrooge McDuck. As it is I'll settle for just looking at it.

Just kidding I'm a poor graduate student, I couldn't have attempted this even if I saw the auction when it was still up. I remember when this was posted years and years ago, I tried to keep in contact with the guy but never could.

I wonder who ended up getting it. I hope they end up finding us and show us some cool pictures of it.
