Yup, thats whats needed to raid the world largest and most famous(?) filesharing server, The Pirate Bay. and 3 men are arrested during the raid. The server were confiscated by the policeforce, meaning that the site is down.

its up again, but the tracker isnt available

many filesharers and leecheres have one less tracker to down/up stuff

long live the piratebay, even though it sucked in the end

It took 50 policemen? It's not like computer pirates are armed or anything...

It seems that this raid not only striked agains the piratebay. it affected all other know swedish sites. they had no whatever connection and yet the servers that the site were in also were confiscated by the police force. many siteowners are very upset by this action.

not only they confiscated the serveres, they refuse to give them back unless a description of the server is given (the content of server, not the server itself)

istheshit.com is probably the most known to you guys besides the piratebay. its also down because of yesterday's raid

english version of the raid

Damn, it took 50 policemen for just 3 people! That's cheap! They had no chance... I wish that they would leave the pirate bay and the other Swedish sites alone! We need them!

Because of all the crime (rape, murder, drunk drivers, organized crime units, gangs, etc., etc.) in the world, computer piracy deserves this heavy of a response and this high of a priority. I'm starting to get the feeling that the energy invested into this was not coming from police officials, but rather certain corporations that are afraid of the missing dimes and nickels from their already heavy pockets. Makes me wish I kept in the game...
