I know right?

This shoulda been for DS, or they should have at least had the Wii version of it with these updated graphics.

Yeah, I would like to see the game updated for a handheld, same with SD3.
Anyway, thanks for the images.

There's a movie in the corner if you haven't seen it.

I glean the following impressions from all of the information given so far:

-There will be no music, just a few sound effects. This shouldn't be too surprising.

-Ally AI will aggro on a much smaller radius (!!)

-Must switch to other characters to get at their ring menus (and cast spells).

-Possibly no targeting for spells.

-No diagonal control. This shouldn't be too surprising either.

-No running or strafing.

-No 2 or 3 player gaming :P

Otherwise, the game looks surprisingly intact.

...still wouldn't want to play it on a phone though :/

If it was released here, I would get it, but it definitely won't be the same game and it definitely is a port to a less powerful system. That's unfortunate because this game deserves a port that is really an update. That being said, Seiken Densetsu was made into a mobile game AND updated with SwoM. Perhaps SE will learn from the mistakes they made in that game and just give a cleaned up SoM version.

I would like to see a fully animated, top down, 2D version on Wii in line with the quality of A Boy and His Blob. Same game, just more beauty a la 2009-10.

manaman, exactly.that would be beautiful.

or I'd really like to see something in 2.5D . . . something along the lines of the graphical style of the original Crystal Chronicles game for the GameCube. It would be delicious.

A lot of people have been saying that tons of material have been cut out from SoM in order to make it fit into a cartridge. I really hope Square-Enix revisits Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3, preferably on the (N)DS(i), and make the game they wanted to make almost twenty years ago.

Zergrinch: totally. I hope so too. it would be stupid on their part to not do so.

A DS version would be nice, but honestly, I don't think it would be such a huge graphical upgrade from the original. That's why I suggest the Wii. Regardless, we'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps it's not SoM's time to shine, yet. A remake may be later down the road but not today.

SoM has already shined, and like Chrono Trigger it's sure to shine again. What I would like to see is a SD3 for DS, kinda like what they did with FF3, but staying true to the graphics. I prefer the 2D graphics when it comes to these games, but still Dawn of Mana was ok for being 3D. Square Enix is focusing too much on change when what they need is located in the past. I mean SD3 never was released in America.

A Seiken Densetsu 3 port, similiar to Chrono Trigger would be easy and the best option.

I'd hate to see it get "reinterpreted", similar to what Lufia 2 is getting... where Duran would be a motorcycle gang member and Angela would be the giddy Hot Topic teenage girl.

short version: just give us the dang game!

I'm not familiar with Lufia, but that sounds awful! I like the 3d versions of ffiii and ffiv that the did. They were extremely faithful but did make some awesome changes and fleshed out the story. I wouldn't mind something like that. But I'd prefer it on the Wii so it could feel like more of a party multiplayer game.

The Japanese and their cells and games. Yet another reason I look forward to returning to the States! Seriously! We see a remake/port and it goes to Japanese mobiles. *turns into Godzilla and rampages Tokyo*
