My computer is still the same laptop. I'm too lazy to type it so look up the old thread. The only difference is that I use a wireless (Logitech m570) trackball.

As far as OS it depends on whether or not it's a work machine or not. My main machine dualboots Vista and Ubuntu 10.10. Work desktop has Fedora 14, the work laptop has Windows 7 (This laptop hates linux not to mention that I need Windows for the VMware client), and the Chrome notebook has Chrome OS and Ubuntu 11.04.

My laptop decided it didn't like graphics anymore and wanted to show me lots of colorful lines and stuff. So Faal and Kassidy helped me pick parts to build a new one.

Motherboard: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1075T Thuban 3.0GHz
Memory: 2 x 2gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer, 1333, 7-7-7-24

Videocard: HIS iCooler V H583FN1GD Radeon HD 5830 1GB

Harddisk: Western Digital Caviar Green WD15EARS 1.5TB

Monitor: Asus 23.5" 2ms 1080p HD forgot model number
Power: Antec TruePower New TP-750 Blue 750W
Case: Antec Lanboy Air Red/Black
Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro H70, 7 fans in case
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64bit

It's super cool I just got Windows running on it yesterday, been downloading all my stuff. This was the first computer I ever built it was a lot of fun to do, but really scary to me.
My laptop died due to overheating I'm pretty sure, and I've always had trouble with computers staying cool enough so I may have gone a bit overboard with the cooling on this thing, but whatever as long as it doesn't die. XD

Also it's named Faalstar Jr.

I picked up one of these. I still use my Trackball and my 20 inch Samsung monitor. Everything else has been replaced. This is my first AMD PC so I want to look into overclocking if it's possible.

For the price it's a really great machine. The lady at the store tried to sell me their **** 2 year warranty. She was saying I only had 15 days but that's 15 to bring it back to them. I had to argue with her that there is a 1 year manufactures warranty that is clearly stated on the box and buying the stores warranty is a waste of money.

With that I'm selling my Inspiron 1525. I'm trying to make up a little for the huge purchase. I had the money but I didn't have the money. My new computer is my main machine and the CR-48 will always be there for on the go tasks.

I took pictures of my computer today.

Here's how it looks with the flash on. The fans aren't set to run that fast so the camera was actually able to catch them without it being a blur. Can barely tell the LEDs are there cause of the flash.

Here is what it looks like with the lights off. I really like how the PSU glows blue down in the bottom. Looks pretty neat. Behind the top side fan you can see some red LEDs, that's my RAM.

Here's the inside. I think I did an ok job at managing all the cables. There's a little dust on the right side at the bottom but besides that this case is very clean. I really like it, and considering our house seems really dusty and we have cats here it's saying something that there isn't any hair in there. The computer stays really cool, I really like the design.

I really like this case, it's nice and roomy and I think it looks really cool.

I replaced half my computer last week. There's now an AMD Phenom II X6 1075T on an ASUS M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3 board, with 8Gb DDR3 1333MHz RAM. New case and power supply too, but they're not so interesting. The video card and drives I kept from the old computer.

Mine is considered 'obsolete' and yet in my neighborhood is still a good one.

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP2
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 631 Cedar Mill 65 nm Technology 3.00 GHz (x2)
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5VD2-MX SE (CPU 1)
RAM: V-Gen 2 GB + Kingston 512 MB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 266MHz (4-4-4-12)
Monitor: Acer AL1716W (1280x800@60Hz)
Video Card: 1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series
Hard Drive: 78GB Seagate ST380215A (PATA)
Optical Drive: Samsung TSSTcorp CD-ROM SH-C522C

obsolete for comrades' standard, true?

I too encounter a trouble during my "down" time until now with the Hard Drive, one of its partition is likely to cause crash after it is opened or explored.
two main possible cause is either or both the registry conflict to open some particular files, and the very old hard drive.

don't ask for funding, others won't even care. ;(

I bought a 600 watt power supply so I could add a graphics card. Picked this up. Not high end but it's enough. Beats integrated by a long shot.

Even after buying the PSU and Graphics card I've still only spent $500. (Not including monitor as I'm using the 20" I bought over a year ago.)

I went a little crazy with life insurance money a few months ago and built a bit of a beast. This will last me a while though I wished I had waited for the Bulldozers (or at least purchased an AM3+ mother board).

motherboard: Asus M4A89GTD PRO AMD 890GX CrossFire Motherboard
processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Processor Overclocked to 4.0GHz
memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz System Memory (4 x 2048MB) --plan to upgrade to 16 @ 4 x 4gb when the need arises.
video card: Radeon HD 5770 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5 x2 --xfx crossfire
hard disc: Seagate ST31000524AS Barracuda Hard Drive - 1TB, SATA 6Gbps, 7200 RPM, 32MB
optical: Sony BD-5300S-0B 12X Blu-Ray Writer
monitor 1: LG Flatron EW224 22" LED
monitor 2: Samsung SyncMaster 2033 20" LCD
keyboard: Sidewinder x6 -- My reason is the detachable number pad and back lit keys. That and this plus my mouse was cheaper than most other gaming keyboards alone.
mouse: Sidewinder x6
mousepad: Custom Awesome face
speakers: Some logitech speakers. They're not bad.
case: Cooler Master HAF 922 Chassis
power supply: 750watt
operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 x64

I dunno yet, I'll check it home, it's from mid 2008 and hardly use it now.

* * * HTPC configuration (self built - 0db in noise) * * *
Chassi: Ace Proton (mini-ITX, Black)

It's an iMac 27 inch screen from this year, so i'm guessing some overpriced average hardware.
