Sword of Mana: A Bad Remake

November 24th, 2007 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Sword of Mana

I stumbled across an interesting set of blog articles over on a blog called Game Design Reviews which analyse aspects of Sword of Mana that failed to impress and paled against the game it was trying to “take to a new level”. A very interesting read.

Sword of Mana: Do, don’t show

Sword of Mana: World Design

Sword of Mana: Bad Customization

I’m sure at least Sheexy will enjoy these. 😉

Final Fantasy Retrospective

September 27th, 2007 | Deques | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Seikens

You may wonder why in a site that is about Seiken Densetsu series is posting anything about the Final Fantasy series. But it does have something with Seiken Densetsu to do. FF Retrospective is about the Final Fantasy franchise in video form. Each week GameTrailer is posting a new video about the series, and will end after 13 parts. In this part, the tenth, you will see a short report about the very first game of Seiken Densetu. The game that started the series. Sheexy will probably love this, since it’s his favourite game of the series.

Let’s Play Final Fantasy Adventure with Captain Duck!

September 21st, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure

Indeed! Let us all play Final Fantasy Adventure, my favorite game in the Seiken Densetsu series!
Oh wait, what if you don’t have the game, or are too lazy to play? Then there is another solution!

Captain Duck to the rescue!

A neat guy who goes by Captain Duck has taken it upon himself to play through Final Fantasy Adventure and narrate it! The videos are really fun and I definitely recommend it! There is a lot of fun information in these videos, and the dude has a pretty killer accent!
So far there are five videos up, when more come out I’ll keep you updated!

Beginning of Game up until Kett’s Place!
Through Marsh Cave and back to Kett’s Place!
Dwarf cave adventure and onto Gaia!
From Gaia to Jadd!
Through Medusa’s Cave!

Also, be sure to check out his thread on our forum.

MMM Special – New Pages Launched – Staff Rolls

September 10th, 2007 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Children of Mana, Final Fantasy Adventure, Mana Music Monday, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Sword of Mana

This week, I bring you not only the Music Monday, but another batch of updates which are related to the pieces below. I’ve chosen these two by Hiroki Kikuta, because in spite their overall simplicity, they greatly enhance the emotional connection to the story.

Expired

I don’t know about you guys, but when I go to watch a film in the cinema, I stay right ’til the end of the credits while everyone else starts packing out like rats from a sinking ship, and there are several reasons I do this. Read the rest of this entry »

Labor Day bore — Final Fantasy Adventure Weapons

September 3rd, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure

But Sheexy, you say, today is Labor day! What are you doing updating the site on they day when you aren’t supposed to do any work?
The answer is plain and simple: I got really bored.

Head on over to the Final Fantasy Adventure Weapons Page and check out the scans of the weapons I got for you! All of the weapons are there, except for the Zeus Axe and XCalibur… for some strange reason those two didn’t make it into the guide.

Expect to see the armor page updated sometime this week!

Exploding Back into Action

August 29th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Whatever Wednesday

The Final Fantasy Adventure overhaul has begun! Head on over to the Final Fantasy Adventure magic page and check out the magic spell drawings I’ve scanned in. I’m going to keep working at scanning and cleaning up the images from the Japanese guide and after a while all of the FFA sections will have some nice images to go with them.
I know it’s kind of funny for me to focus my work on the oldest game, but man, that game is my favorite!

Also, this update is kind of small because I finally got around to getting Dawn of Mana and am currently playing through it. The game is really fun and the controls aren’t too bad, but seriously, the story is terrible!

Final Fantasy Adventure Merchandise

July 27th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Merchandise

The Final Fantasy Adventure Merchandise section is now up and running here. Check it out to learn about all the awesome and old FFA stuff that are out there for you to collect.

From here on out the Merchandise section pages might take a little longer, because when it came to Legend of Mana, Sword of Mana, Children of Mana and Dawn of Mana Square apparently decided they needed to make lots of goodies for the series.

New FFA Remix – Amanda’s Tear

July 5th, 2007 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Remixes

We have another new remix over in our Final Fantasy Adventure Remixes section courtesy of OCRemix and Big Giant Circles, called Amanda’s Tear. It takes the theme In Sorrow and applies a well orchestrated electronica feel to it, with a nifty guitar solo thrown in for good measure. Check it out!
