We’re back with Mana Music Monday, bringing you more samples from those soundtracks that brought the game to life, and this week we’re looking at a comparison between a track from Final Fantasy Adventure that was remade for the later Sword of Mana.
The track in question is one of my personal favourites: In Search of the Holy Sword, a track I always felt should have been included among those arranged for the Let the Thoughts Ride on Knowledge album.

I don’t like the dance drum addition. It cheapens the potential for the original to be actually dramatic and it moves the theme into the realm of cheesy anime dance opening themes (ala Sailor Moon, or something of similar cheese ilk).
I don’t see how it adds to the track…

I’m glad to see you guys got these two awesome songs I was talking about about a week ago, well the SwoM one anyways. Well, their both great, but I still like the SwoM remade song better. It seems to have a better rythem in my opinon.
Then of course part of the rythem is lost when you make the hot house. Did anyone else experience this with the GBA?
*Not the same person as Dan*: ISP and email is different. I know that Deques already knew this, but I like to be on the safe side.
