Sorry for any inconvenience!

It’s still Monday in some parts of the world, which means it’s that time of the week again, and we have another special. Thanks to Wai recently enabling polls, and Sheexy coming up with a stunning idea all the way from Japan, we will be holding a special poll this week to decide what the Most Annoying Track in Seiken Densetsu is. Granted, you have a few to choose from only, but you can always comment here with further suggestions.

Anyway, you can listen to the track below, and vote over on the right hand side of your screen. Your choices are:

– Rising Sun (Kenji Ito’s intro song that has been used in 4 Mana games without any significant change)
– Happenings of a Moonlit Night (Kikuta’s take on the Dwarven underground scene)
– Closed Garden (Choose your SD3 savegame quick, before it burns into your mind)
– Pastoral (Egg hunting never sounded so good in LoM)
– Longing (How long can the Children of Mana last in the village?)
– Tenacity (Stop staring at your Heroes of Mana Encyclopedia!)

Team power!

Ah, this was hard. I don’t like to diss any of the tunes in the Mana series because they’re all so great, but I will admit that “Rising Sun” never was my favorite and that the best version I believe is the “piano solo” version off of “Breath of Mana” and seeing as most of the other versions don’t really do anything for me (alright, perhaps are even annoying!) I guess I’ll cast my vote for “Rising Sun.” I’m assuming Kassidy agrees since there was one other vote for the same.

  2. manaman Says:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that perhaps I’m crazy, but I’ve always loved the dwarves theme. Heh.

  3. Kassidy Kearey Says:

It was hard to choose one from SoM… but I’m afraid the Dwarves Theme was never my favourite, so I agreed with Sheexy’s suggestion for it. And yes, I did vote for Rising Sun. I just can’t help it… Had it not been hammered into my skull so often I would have been fine with it, in fact I liked it before SwoM and had a lovely remix that melded it together with Angel’s Fear oh so nicely. Alas, overuse was its downfall in my eyes.

  4. manaman Says:

Hey, I agree. I think the song chosen from SoM really is the best for this type of poll. Don’t sweat it. I think I remember my mom asking me to quiet the volume when I was meeting Watts. 🙂

  5. Quemaqua Says:

I think Kenji Ito is a pretty brilliant composer, and his only real problem is that he recalls familiar themes too often. Now he can be pretty good at it when he wants to be, so if Rising Sun and some of the other a-bit-too-familiar stuff had first appeared in Dawn of Mana I don’t think I’d have any issues, but given that he did it in several games prior… yeah, sometimes there are themes that just get a little old. That said, I still can’t vote for it because I still think it’s a lovely piece of music.

Anyway, I have to take issue with all of these suggestions. I’d choose the Legend of Mana monster corral music or the music in SD3 when you beat a boss but still have to exit a dungeon and it just repeats and repeats and repeats…

  6. Sheexy Says:

I don’t think SoM really has any annoying songs, so I just grabbed for the track that was the strangest XD

I actually made a song to the tune when I was little XD
Goes like this, pretty easy to figure out the timing and such:

All the little people sitting drinking al-co-hol
    al-co-hol
All the little people sitting drinking al-co-hol
    al-co-hol
Sitting there in their underwear, they don’t even give a care

People, please take the fact that I was six when I made this song into consideration. Please.

  7. manaman Says:

Ha ha ha, Sheexy, that is excellent! You really were a little SoM-nerd as a kid. I say that with nothing but endearment.

  8. Danny Says:

It was indeed kind of hard to choose which songs we disliked the most since we all pretty much like all the songs in the seiken densestu series, but my vote was for the Dwarf’s theme.
It’s a little annoying sometimes since it seems to be louder then the other songs in SoM and I also remember having to turn the volume down when the older sister was sleeping during that theme song.

  9. Sheexy Says:

I am really surprised how everyone is hating on the Dwarves. I figured Closed Garden was going to take the cake!

Quemaqua’s suggestion for the victory loop was pretty good, I should have thought to add that.
