KassidyThanks to Kimiko on the forum for linking us in. Secret of Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu 2) is due to be released in Japan for Mobile phone in June 2009. It will be made available for the FOMA 903i phone under the Japanese mobile phone operator NTT DOCOMO, for the cost of 840 yen (that’s about $8.86 USD, or 6.32 €). There are presently few details about the game, other than a lovely piece of artwork posted on the official website for the port.

We’ll keep posting the latest as we find out about it.Secret of Mana Mobile

That artwork makes me really happy. Salamando looks more like the World of Mana ones though. At least we got the good ol’ Sylphid and Gnome.

Man, this really made my day. Thanks Seikens.

The artwork is really great. The filname “som-mobile-small.png” states that there is a big version of that image? Is it here on the site? Would love to have that.

Yes, finally a Secret of Mana remake! Oh wait, for a phone!?
    …Goddamn you Square-Enix…

Why in the whole wide world could they not make a DS remake instead, when they’re first at it? I’m confused.

    Please excuse my ranting.

I can’t really say I’m a big fan of the SNES version. I LOVE the PS, GB and GBA Mana games. However, I do see a lot of improvement in the phone port, I LOVE the new artwork, and I hope this (as well as the remake of SD1!!!) gets a WiiWare release just like FFIV:TAY did! *crosses fingers* Pleeeeease Squeenix?!
