These confusing enemies in the Seiken Densetsu series are the hands of some sort of Griffins. What happened to the rest of the Griffin is a great mystery. Their hands hop around with minds of their own. They look like a pink feathered table with a claw base.

Griffin Hands patrol Float Rocks with Manta Rays. They attack by jumping around the screen randomly and can poison you.

In SoM Griffin Hands are classified as Birds.

Griffin Hands only appear in the Pure Land in SoM. They attack by lunging towards your character with their giant claws. They will occasionally drop Griffin Helms, the strongest helmet in the game for the Hero.
