Myconids, also known as Mushbooms, are big pink mushroom shaped enemies that inhabit the forest areas in the Seiken Densetsu series. These creatures usually dance around to fight and can spit spores out at their enemies to put them to sleep. They are usually found buried in the ground up to their cap, and upon getting close to them they will pop out and pursue you. The word Matango is often associated with these creatures in their language or names. This word can be traced back to a Japanese movie from 1963 entitled “Matango: Attack of the Mushroom People”.

Their leader is King Truffle and he knows a lot about the legend of the White Dragon and helps you out in the story. Their language has the word “Matango” for hello, and “Gontma” for goodbye.
