Seikens

Bestiary - Sahagin

This Seiken Densetsu monster takes its name from the Sahagin enemies in Final Fantasy games, which adapted the name Sea Hag into Sahagin similar to what happened with the Sahagin enemies in Dungeons and Dragons. In Final Fantasy games and in Dungeons and Dragons the Sahagin are either Merfolk or very humanoid aquatic beings, but in the Seiken Densetsu series they are amphibious fish with legs who always weild small tridents. Both Sahagins and Petit Poseidons make appearances in SwoM and CoM.

Final Fantasy Adventure

Water Thug / Sahagin (J)

Ice Thug / Petit Poseidon (J)

These Thugs are only found in the Pure Land. Besides being able to cast Cure Water they act the same as Water Thugs.

Seiken Densetsu 3

Sahagin

These fishy enemies live inside the Labyrinth of Ice Walls as well as in an ice room in the Mirage Palace. They have a bubble attack which homes in on your character and lowers their defense. They attack by jabbing with their trident more than throwing it, and have a powerful Hundered Spear Thrust. Their scales will increase the intelligence of one of your characters.

Petit Poseidon

Petit Poseidons are also found in the Labyrinth of Ice Walls. If they are alone or another monster is killed near them they may summon a Sahagin to fight with them. They have a bubble power down attack which will shoot homing bubbles at all of your characters. They have a Harpoon Hail attack which rains tridents down in random areas around them.

Legend of Mana

In LoM Water Thugs are classified as Demi-Humans.

Sahagin

Sahagin live in various areas around the world in LoM. They attack by stabbing with their trident and will sometimes throw it. A Sahagin named Tikkle will appear in the Duma Desert with a quest if Dryad is at level three. This Sahagin is considered a wimp by the others and sets out to defeat Kima to prove he is a hero. The name of the quest “The Wimpy Thugling” makes reference to the English name for the enemies used in SoM. As a pet Tikkle will increase the damage you do with piercing attacks.
