Re: Post your Battlestation!

Yep, it's a CRT. I did have an LCD there, but it packed in, and I keep a couple of CRTs around as backups. For all intents and purposes it works for what I need it, which is to sometimes access my server.

It's a bit more organised now, so here's a bad photo due to lack of light.

Re: Secret Of Mana Sample?

Gosh, that is eerily similar, well spotted. I'd have to rip the sample from SoM and speed it up to the same pitch to see if it lines up. It could be that the effect was achieved using the same technique by both teams working on the album and on the game. Interesting to note, while we're at it, that ...

Re: Secret of Mana Challenges

Yeah, I learn the hard way at times. ;) Latest episodes are progressing nicely. Ish. Sorta. ARGH. I also included at the end of the latest episode, after a failed boss battle, a quick "see, this is how easy it would be with magic spam". The difference is insane. I'd forgotten just how chee...

Re: Happy Halloween!

Nice one! Well, I carved pumpkins... That's it. Well, took the girls round the neighbourhood for ToT, but nothing else terribly exciting. I didn't really have time to prep any dressing up for myself. Other than the pumpkin on the frontpage, I did a Borderlands themed one. A Handsome Jack-o-Lantern. ...

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set

Not so much that. I'm pretty certain that I've covered this point previously (in fact I know that I have), but basically, here's the deal. If you were to ask most people who have had a moderate exposure to the series what the main theme for the series is, the chances are that, if they have played So...

Re: What games are you playing?

Well I picked up FTL and yes, it's fantastic. Got it from the dev website so I could play in Linux, the game lengths are just right and fit my "now I can focus, now I have to drop everything and deal with stuff in real life". Meanwhile, Borderlands 2 came out... and said "free time? i...

Re: Secret of Mana Challenges

Whoops, sorry!
Yeah, Lucid Barrier is going to get abused. I also take it that the use of saber magic is allowed (I mean, I had to in the case of Frost Gigas' fight since otherwise any hits would heal him), even though from what I could tell in one fight it doesn't actually help one iota.

Re: Secret of Mana Challenges

Yeah, that's what I had to do in the end. You're right on the AI triggering earth-slide if you move away, or at least that's the experience I had also. Was just a case of running circles around him and having him hit other characters hopefully, and healing at every hit. I was about to ragequit last ...
