With all the Mana hype lately I've been re-examining some of the entries in the series that we never got to experience over here in the west. A while back I came across the screenshot of Popoi in Friends of Mana and I was intrigued so I started googling to see if I could find any more information on the game than the sparse info we've had all these years. I know it's easy to just write the game off as a mobile title of little consequence, but I saw someone on gamefaqs mention that this game references the multiverse nature of the series which piqued my interest (something Heroes of Mana apparently does as well, I'm working my way through that game for the first time now). Anyway, in my googling efforts I never really found any more information on the game in English, but I did find a few pages that have a bunch of artwork and screenshots I've never seen before, including not only pictures of Popoi but pictures of Charlotte from Trials of Mana as well:

I still wonder what exactly this game's story consisted of/if it was anything substantial. It's a shame that games like this and Rise of Mana will probably just be lost in history.

I had forgotten about Friends of Mana, good find! It's a shame that these titles never make it outside of Japan. Seems to be a few characters from Legend of Mana in those screenshots too.

Many of the games I love are Japan only mobile or online games so I just use workarounds to play them. (mainly Dragon Quest stuff and Star Ocean) I'm not huge into Mana scene, but I even recognize some of the familiar Mana series faces in there. ^ u^
