Honestly I feel this happens in nearly every game and movie and everything always. Really bugs me cause sometimes it is really so forced and pointless.

You're pretty right about the whole movie trying too hard to be like LotR, good in some ways bad in others I guess. They probably thought they'd be letting people down or something if they didn't have enough action and stuff.

I gotta agree about getting tired of the film, haha, it felt like it went on forever.
