Legend of Mana Card Duel – Comics

March 21st, 2024 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Legend of Mana Card Duel

Over in the Legend of Mana Card Duel section, I’ve got a new page set up. On the Comics page, you’ll find a set of 5 comics by Hiroyuki Yasuda (安田ひろゆき) that were included in the Making of Mana (1999, ISBN4-7561-3148-4) publication.

The comics feature the Hero, Niccolo, and Duelle while briefly covering important points in the Rules as well as some thoughts about Deck Building. I especially love the goofy little Duelle you see to the right here. It’s fun to read these and imagine people in the past actually playing the TCG. I wonder how many people actually sat down and built decks.

Making of Mana mentions special events for the game at the 1999 Japan Game Convention held from August 27-29, and it just kills me that we’ll never know more than that about it.

My edits to the comics are not perfect, but I think I did a pretty good job on the clean up and translations.

LoM: The Teardrop Crystal Episodes/Gallery Updates

November 2nd, 2022 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Legend of Mana, Seikens, The Teardrop Crystal

Just a small note, here on the main page where it’s more visible.
Every week I update the Episodes and Gallery for Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal. It seems they put new episode information out pretty early, so be warned the images/descriptions likely include spoilers!
I also included translations of Li’l Cactus’s diary entries for the episodes. I may tweak them here and there, as it’s pretty punishing to puzzle out precisely what the potted poet is purporting to pen.

Another small thing, I rearranged the site menu on the right side. Legend of Mana seemed to be large enough to support its own listing.

Dawn of Mana – Gallery Update

November 24th, 2021 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Dawn of Mana, Gallery Updates, Seikens

We’ve got some nice new images up in the Dawn of Mana Gallery!

You can check out new Character Art, Monster Art, and Scenery Art.

There are a lot of fun images in here, like Needlebirds sleeping by poking their beaks into the ground, weapons for a few of the main characters, and some beautiful images of landscapes.

I found all these images in a zip file on an old hard drive, I think they’re dated to around 2012 or so. I have no idea where they came from, but it seems they may have been ripped directly from the game.

Seiken Densetsu 3 Triangle Card Games

July 3rd, 2021 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Seiken Densetsu 3, Seikens, Trials of Mana

Legend of Mana wasn’t the only Seiken Densetsu game to get a card game! These games aren’t anywhere near as collectable or complicated as Card Duel is, but it’s still fun to see.

Back in 1995, the Prologue book for Seiken Densetsu 3 came with a collection of 22 cards that you could play simple little games with. One game is like War, the other one is more like Uno.

You can read about the games on the Triangle Story Card Games page, and check out all the scanned cards either there or in the Gallery.

I actually scanned all those cards in back in 2012. That’s when I originally made this page, but it got lost when we transferred everything to WordPress. I think it looks pretty nice, all the images on the page are brand new.

More games added to the gallery

September 29th, 2012 | Deques | Filed under Gallery Updates, Seikens

Well, it took a few more days than I thought it would take. I already added them to the gallery, but I didn’t publish them until now. Better later than never.

The gallery needs to be polished a bit more before it is finished. I am missing a few more games in the Seiken Densetsu series. Kassidy is helping me to gather those images and upload them. Hopefully the gallery will be completed next week. Check out the Merchandise section in the gallery. You will find Tomnet’s awesome Mana collection

The gallery is coming back

September 25th, 2012 | Deques | Filed under Gallery Updates, Seikens

Finally, after than a year the gallery is finally coming back. We haven’t really actually done anything to take it back after the last incident last year. But we finally got the motivation to bring it back.

If I recall we were using zenPhoto for the gallery and at that time before everything went down last year we were using a really old version of WordPress. But now we are up to date. Meaning we can use those powerful plugins that are available for WordPress. NextGen Gallery is such plugin, and this is the one we are using for the new gallery.

Right now the are only four categories in the gallery: Cosplay, fan art, Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana. The rest of the categories will be up later (hopefully not next year).

Seiken Densetsu 3 Playing Cards

January 6th, 2010 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Seiken Densetsu 3

In the gallery we’ve got some new scans of the SD3 playing cards that came with the special Prologue guide that came out before SD3 was released in Japan.

You can check out the new scans here.

About a year ago I posted a page in the SD3 section that contains the rules for the two different games you can play with the cards, you can find that information here.

New Affiliate – Legendra RPG

October 29th, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Affiliates, Gallery Updates, Secret of Mana

We got a new Affiliate, it’s a site called Legendra RPG. It’s all in French but it’s a really cool site. If you can’t read French you can still enjoy the vast amount of RPG related media they have. And if you can understand French you can get a whole lot more information from their site.
Check them out:

They also gave us some Secret of Mana Mobile pictures that you can find in the Gallery.

Nintendo Power Scans

October 27th, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Secret of Mana

In honor of Secret of Mana Mobile being released, I’ve uploaded the remaining Nintendo Power issues into our gallery for your reading pleasure. Remember, if they’re too small you can click on them to download them in a bigger size which is 1000 pixels wide by however tall they are, varies from one to the next because I suck at scanning, but hey, they’re readable right? And I don’t think I cut off any pictures, so bonus points!
Volume 62
Volume 63
Volume 64

And just as a small hint of what’s to come in future updates, I’m going to leave this image here:

Secret of Mana Nintendo Power Scans

October 22nd, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Gallery Updates, Secret of Mana

Hey, I got around to cleaning up some of the 950MB of Seiken Densetsu images I have sitting in my “to-do” folder!

Head over to the gallery and you can look through Volume 57 of Nintendo Power with the first Secret of Mana feature!

I only scanned the Secret of Mana sections in, but if you’re on this site you probably don’t care much about what else was in the magazine.

The text might be too small for you to read in the gallery, but if you click on the images you can download a real big version of it. Some of the pages aren’t quite perfectly aligned, and the margins might be a little bit rough in places, but that’s ok. They’re called margins because they are marginally important. That’s not the real reason behind that name, but maybe it should be?

I’ll be getting the other three Secret of Mana features from Nintendo Power up soon!
