After the huge success of Secret of Mana’s soundtrack, Kikuta was invited back for a second time two years later to work his magic on Seiken Densetsu 3. Keeping true to his style of emotional conveyance through music, he has experimented this time incorporating more ethnic musical styles together with the techniques used in the past game, and once more getting the emotions running high at the right moments. This soundtrack is also characterized for having a much greater number of boss themes.
Of special note are the tracks “Meridian Child”, “Delicate Affection”, and the whole of the finale at the end of Disc 3 from the last boss battles to the end of the game, which is so well weaved you get taken to a new high every time you think it couldn’t get any better. There is also a track missing from the soundtrack that appears in the game called “Legend”, that plays during the flight upon Flammie back from the final battle.
