Re: Memories of Mana 3

That's probably not the case with Memories of Mana though. It's totaly self-contained.

Re: Memories of Mana 3

I'm sorry, I don't remember. Because MoM1 and MoM2 are so similar they've sort of combined in my head, and it doesn't help that I played them while they were mainly in Portugese, translating in my head with my very very basic understanding of Spanish (which was similar enough to Portugese to get me ...

Re: Memories of Mana 3

I'm not sure that the background seen is final. I recently looked at his early prototype for Memories of Mana (Originally it was to be called Books of Mana) and it is extremely different than what Memories of Mana 1 turned out to be. The length of the first two games are realatively short. About ten...

Memories of Mana 3

Moghunter has begun work on the third (and final?) chapter of his Memories of Mana series. He hopes to have it completed by October! This one is a complete overhaul of the gameplay system before and in true Mana form will let you play with three characters at the same time, allowing you to switch ba...

Re: Ishii interviewed for Zelda

Ah, I see. Well, I made the old friend of mine that I played SoM with back in the day play Children of Mana with me. I had to give him my old DS (because I bought the limited edition golden Triforce DS and no longer had a need for my old black one) or else I would have had to play it all by myself. :(

Re: Ishii interviewed for Zelda

I see your meaning. Ishii, like Nintendo, tries to go against the grain and reinvent the wheel (to his detriment in the World of Mana project). That is probably why they respect him, because of his willingness to take risks like they do. Hm. It is true, though, that Nintendo is much more interested ...

Re: Ishii interviewed for Zelda

What I find most interesting about this article is all the lavish praise that Iwata (Nintendo's president) and Miyamoto (the creator and executive producer of all things Zelda and Mario) heap on Ishii and Greezo. They talk about how they called Ishii to Tokyo and showed him the 3DS long before showi...

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set

Haha, I know how you feel. Especially since you already have most of these discs. But brand new orchestral arrangments! Interviews! (er... wait... those will be in Japanese and probably without English subtitles, huh? Hmmm....)

Ishii interviewed for Zelda

(no mention of Mana whatsoever, booooo!)
http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interview ... f-time/3/0

But it's still a facinating read, and nice to get inside that man's head. I wish we had this sort of interview back in the Mana days. :(

Re: Bad new for mana fans...

Yeah, it probably WOULD be a lot easier to play on the iPad as my two thumbs cover like a third of the screen on the iPhone. I got about a third through the game hoping to god I would just eventually get used to the touch screen... nope. Still have MASSIVE trouble with simple things like walking up ...

Re: Bad new for mana fans...

Gah, you beat me to the punch. I had just read this and was coming over here to post about it. I don't think this is bad news. I think it's great news. Of course after the epic fail that was World of Mana they will want to be careful. Some ports (SD3 finally?) first to make sure the "interest&q...

Re: E3 2011

Maybe I'm just a Nintendo fan boy (maybe?!) but I think Nintendo rocked it this E3. Skyward Sword looks to be coming along magnificently and looks to be the best Zelda game yet. The 3DS line up with the awesome looking Super Mario 3DS and the remake of Ocarina of Time and Kid Icarus? Awesome stuff. ...

Re: Inspecting the Seiken Densetsu 3 and Secret of Mana maps

I'm sure you already know that series creator Koichi Ishii has said on multiple occasions that there is no real timeline as each game deals with different karmic versions of the same people/events. I think this is a cop-out and am sure there's a reasonable explaination for the various issues that pr...
