I was looking around when I found this: (I really had to post it!)
http://www.unseen64.net/2008/04/14/secret-of-mana-nes The seiken densetsu game that never came out
And:
http://www.unseen64.net/2008/06/08/secr ... snes-beta/ Screens of the beta secret of mana
unseen stuff :X
Re: unseen stuff :X
WOW
I'm looking at the beta screenshots now!
From screenshot 18 and others, it looks like the "mysterious empire south-town circle" was a graphic used to depict landing zones. Weird!

I made a post about the original SD a long time ago I think.
Those beta screens are neat though, I wish all that data was still around too.

Wow! This stuff is amazing! It might just be the way Nintendo Power printed the colors or the way they were scanned from the magazine, but it looks like a completely different palette. Especially in Potos. Less pastel and more. . . rich. I really, really like that palette.
And the screen shots of "The Emergence of Excalibur" makes me want to play that game soooo bad! It looks awfully similar to the first Final Fantasy. It looks like the other characters follow the main character like in Dragon Quest.
