I have played Secret of Mana, only the beginnnig

, final fantasy adventures, only the begininng, SEIKEN DENSETSU 3, i saved like 10 files and completed it

You might just be a bit low on level if you're having trouble with him. Go back and kill some more baddies.

Also when I played through on my level 1 game he was incredibly hard due to his bat attack that pretty much covers the whole screen, you can dodge all the bats if you concentrate enough.

By using Salamando's magic to up my attack and hitting him with the bow from a distance I was able to beat him.
