Heh, the ice country and Lorimar fit pretty good right there. Would explain the Ice Palace I guess. XD
Aside from the shape sorta matching, the mountains over on the left and the Mana Holy Land that's as far as I see similarity.

It's an interesting catch though, I think you could run with it.

I totally see it. Maybe I just want to, though. Still, great catch, bastian!

The more I look at it the more convinced I am.

I've circled things on each map that seem to correspond. All in all, it's as if the land has eroded by the time of SoM. Interestingly enough, the Sunken Continent seems still sunken. It's almost as if it would raise a bit more, we'd have the missing land bridge that connects it to the desert area.

Yes, finally a link from SD4 - CoM - HoM to SoM!

Now, to link SD3 in here somewhere >.>

you convinced me a while ago, though. Now if only someone could piece together an entire timeline of the "Tales of" saga (they do not even have one on the official "Tales" website).

Ah, but that's something for the "Tales of" community, isn't it? Just like the way the Zelda community managed to hammer out a timeline of sorts from a bunch of mostly unconnected games...

maybe you should see older posts, comrade.
SD3 is just a generation after HoM.

maybe after the war in HoM, all technologies are destroyed.

This is the most logical possibility. Even though I do not know exavtly what I am talking about since I do not own HoM yet. Except with the prices the way they are here I might be able to find one for under $20, that would be great!

Actually I shouldn't have put HoM together with the bunch. It should have been:

Dawn of Mana > 19 years > Children of Mana > indeterminate > Secret of Mana

The other games being isolated:
Friends of Mana > 10 years > Legend of Mana
Heroes of Mana > 19 years > Seiken Densetsu 3
Sword of Mana

So, I have yet to see a link between HoM/SD3 to SD4/CoM/SoM...

The other games don't have full world maps, so I guess it's impossible to prove or disprove the link based on geography...

Bastian: You're a genius. Didn't think about inverting the maps, but that makes things look very fitting. I'll be calling you a genius again in about three minutes or so.

Anyways, just for fun, it seems that Lorimar is always an island except for SD3. In that map, it's still almost an island except for a little patch where Diorre is.

Just to show people what I'm talking about.

Yo! I was checking this out again recently, and I noticed a few flaws in what I plan on making "SD5" and these theories. First of all, according to the game I will be making, SD3 will become SD2, but according to this, SD2 becomes SD3, as from what I read, children of mana and Dawn of Mana are very closely related to SD2. I guess the best way for me to fix this issue in my game would be to say that SD3 and SD2 came before CoM and Dawn of Mana?

Them coming before CoM and Dawn would be pretty hard to pull off because they're pretty much the very beginning of everything.

CoM and DoM have the most established timeline among the games besides SD3 and HoM.

Yeah... what Sheexy said. Dawn is definately the beginning of the series, so far, at least. It explains how the Mana Goddess came to be, for instance. As for Children and Dawn being "very closely related to SD2" . . . I don't see it. I see more of a similarity between those and SD3/Heroes of Mana because SD3 is the sequel to Heroes, and Heroes references Anise from Dawn.
