And once you're informed, check out 419eater.com/'s letters section. Some of the thing they get the scammers to do are hilarious.

Why should this be a concern? Just trash the mail.

Thanks for the info, comrade. Even I'm planning to get those people to their 'real home' they mentioned. Now I only need to cooperate with the intel while luring them. I sensed ' A Good Thing ' will occur soon.

add:
don't mess with this successor of the Special Forces colonel, frauders!

reminds me of a story arch from the Achewood comics. The one starting on 03/05/2007 (I am not taking any chances with cursing).

They put a lot of effort into this!

It's really amazing how many people are unaware of these scams and are taken advantage of by these people. It's not their fault, either. Only a small number of people seem to know about or are suspicious of this type of thing. It's the same with sales scams... they take advantage of people who don't know a lot about it.

I'd suggest you guys read through this: http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/ = dude trying to sell his laptop on eBay, and a scammer tried to rip him off... unfortunately our erstwhile hero knows how to spot scammers and has a history of practical jokes...

P-P-P-POWERBOOK!

Man, it never gets old reading that thing. Definitely one of the best things on the internet.

It should be required reading material.

What a really nice counterstrike, however not all stories ended well. We (or they) still can't contact the hero.
