I got it tonight and I find it pretty amazing. It's kinda slow though, google probably needs to clean out part pf the codes to make Internet Explorer 6 compatible
I think the idea is okay... it's like facebook and twitter combined or something like that... if you are into that kind of things.
What I do think is lame is that google is acting just like microsoft and forcing people to get gmail to use it.
There are a lot of people like me out there that don't like gmail (nor hotmail), we have our own mails that we love and care.
At least facebook don't force you to get a new mail just to use their service
Google jumped on the social networking / microblogging bandwagon, but too late. People are already established with Twitter or Facebook (or both), so I'm not sure I see people switching.
I hate social networking, which in my opinion is for codependent idiots who can't exist without other people constantly showering them with attention (or more accurately, without shoving their ugly faces directly into everyone else's field of view so that those people are forced to constantly look at them). I also kind of hate what Google has become. So... yeah. I think this one is sort of not for me.
