20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Through the magic of internet search engines, I've been able to procure lossless digital copies of this boxset. And I'm sure many of those who don't plan to buy it, have done so as well.
But that's a topic for another day.
I'm posting to ask whether anyone here who has heard the Medley can identify the songs that are played in the medley. I can certainly identify Kikuta's stuff, but the rest... well... I'm not too familiar with the songs :(
Time beginning
00:00 - Rising Sun, from Final Fantasy Adventure
00:59 - Sword of Mana, sounds like a battle theme
01:28 - Still Sword of Mana
02:17 - Very slow rendition of Decision Bell, the Mana holyland theme from SD3
02:31 - Meridian Child, SD3 (personal favorite in the medley)
04;00 - Meridian Dance, final boss battle theme from SoM (only the "Nuclear Fusion" part was played)
05:07 - Either a nice segue or a theme from CoM
05:16 - Children of Mana, but i can't place it
06:05 - ???
06:37 - Sad theme, from Dawn of Mana (?)
07:28 - ???
07:38 - And Thus Fate Becomes Cruel, a battle theme from Heroes of Mana (I hate zombie Booskaboo stage)
08:45 - ???
09:02 - Legend of Mana, I can't decide whether this is "Complicated Destiny", "The One Who Waits for the Breath of Destiny", or "Fiery Castle". In any case, music that plays in the Larc/Sierra arc.
09:52 - ??? (probably just a bridge)
09:57 - And we end with Rising Sun (FFA) again

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Naw, it's just ten over minutes.
Nobody here has heard the medley?

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Only had a chance to listen to the first couple of minutes (been that busy tonight). That's not Decision Bell though, just the first part of Meridian Child.
Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
It is from Decision Bell. First 21 notes. Of this I am sure
Decision Bell, from the OST:
Solo Track (MIDI): http://www.hamienet.com/track10992-4.mid
This little nuance is why I'm convinced there are more 'hidden' segue tracks like this. The arranger certainly did her research, that's for sure.
Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
I relistened, and stand corrected, Decision Bell is used in that bridge. No idea how I missed it, so there ya go, fallible I am.
OK, there's a couple of Bridge in there which may have something I haven't fully identified yet, but here you go.
00:00 Rising Sun (FFA)
00:59 Running Towards the Future (SwoM)
02:16 Bridge with Decision Bell (SD3)
02:30 Meridian Child (SD3)
04:00 Meridian Dance (SoM)
05:07 Bridge
05:24 The Thunder Emperor's Aloofness (CoM)
06:05 Bridge with hints of Rising Sun moving into The Truth Behind the Mask (SD4)
06:36 Feelings Not Forgotten (SD4)
07:28 Bridge
07:38 And Thus Fate Becomes Cruel (HoM)
08:45 Bridge
09:02 Fiery Castle (LoM) (Complicated Destiny and The One Who Waits... do follow the same leitmotif, FC is the closest)
09:52 Bridge
09:57 Rising Sun (FFA)

5:24 isn't Grasslands of Eternity. It's The Thunder Emperor's Aloofness. . It also starts a little before that around 5:14.
I recognized that timpani part at the beginning in a heart beat.
6:36 is Feelings Not Forgotten

Oh, and Grasslands of Eternity is a "triumphant cutscene" I guess you could say.

Rectified because you are indeed right. I think I'm going to go get my hearing checked (or stop doing this sort of thing while I'm at work, perhaps another good idea).
Added Feelings not Forgotten.
Yes, re Grasslands, that's the feeling one gets from it, but I swear it doesn't get used in the game.
Well, with enough sets of ears and heads we'll get there...

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Haha, well I know Grasslands is used, and I'm pretty sure it's in the Mana Village. I'll be doing a CoM runthrough here after my Solo Randi SoM on the iPod and my Heroes of Mana run through. So that'll be about two more weeks maybe? I know it's used though.
And if we're being really technical here, Thundering Aloofness starts at 5:14. .
I know the bridge at 7:28 is something. I'm not sure what, but it's probably Heroes or Legend considering it is Shimomura's little section.
EDIT:
I figured out 7:28

Finally got 7:28.
Sorry for the double post, but I figured a BUMP was necessary for the find.

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Looks like an early MMM update to me.
Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
Pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!
Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
My plan to completely fill in the blanks with the help of Youtube commentators worked! Now, there's only one bridge remaining!
qeynoshills says the bridge at 7:28 sounds like a contrapuntal arrangement off the familiar Chocobo theme. Unfortunately, I'm not hearing this. This is our last unknown, your input is appreciated Seiken fans!
0:00 Rising Sun (Final Fantasy Adventure)
0:59 Running Towards the Future (Sword of Mana)
2:16 BRIDGE ~ Decision Bell (Seiken Densetsu 3)
2:30 Meridian Child (Seiken Densetsu 3)
4:00 Meridian Dance (Secret of Mana)
5:07 BRIDGE ~ Remix of Endless Battlefield (Final Fantasy Adventure) thanks to qeynoshills
5:14 The Thunder Emperor's Aloofness (Children of Mana)
6:05 BRIDGE ~ Remix of Rising Sun (Final Fantasy Adventure) thanks to qeynoshills
6:36 Feelings Not Forgotten (Dawn of Mana)
7:28 BRIDGE ~ (??)
7:38 And Thus Fate Becomes Cruel (Heroes of Mana)
8:45 BRIDGE ~ The Dragon Emperor (Heroes of Mana)
9:02 Fiery Castle (Legend of Mana)
9:52 BRIDGE to finale
9:57 Rising Sun reprise

Re: 20 Disc Seiken Densetsu Box Set
I'm still a firm believer that 7:28 is Polpota Harbor.
