With help from GREE, Square Enix made a new Mana game. However, Legend of the Holy Sword: Circle of Mana isn’t like the other action oriented Mana titles. This game is (surprise!) a card battle game where your goal is to protect the Tree of Mana. Cards can be strengthened and you can combine the same cards to make a card evolve.
What makes Circle of Mana unique is it borrows an element from the Japan-only sequel to Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3. Players can choose how cards evolve and what skills they develop. Circle of Mana also has a player vs. player coliseum mode where you can earn points by defeating other Mana Tree guardians.
God that girl's voice is creepy, but those remixes are awesome. Thanks for finding info on the game. I kind of forgot this was in development. It's a shame that we're not really getting a new Mana game though. :(
Well the sad thing about this game is that if it were available internationally I know I'd play the crap out of it right now. I've been kinda hooked on Fantasica on my Android phone. Unfortunately, when I've tried to get Circle of Mana installed it tells me that it is not available for my region. Oh well.
