The history of seikens
Bleh, noone wants to talk here besides the stupid Not new anymore topic which became somewhat annoying.
So i start this topic that might be more interesting than that topic.
During Seikens lifetime, it has used several different forum software. I remember I started using ikonboard 2.x as the first forum software. But then it was on the old Mana World. Just a trivia, I installed ikonboard during school time I did it in a break so dont call me skipper or something like that.
Why did I install it in school time? I didnt have broadband then and uploading 5+mb on dialup is both expensive and time consuming. The school had broadband and it was fast and free.
I had lots problem installing it since I was still new with scripts, I think it was the first script ever I installed on a webserver.
When me and RagNaroK merged mine and his site we did our first change. If someone remembers which forum we used I might continue this story. Cause I dont remember which we used

Didn't we move to phbb when they merged?
I think I remember that dumb little image those forums had, the little houses in the name.
I remember when the forums merged and everyone kept their post counts from Mana Tree and World of Mana. Riesz had like, an insanely high post count when it merged (like 1000 almost) but I still came out as top poster.

I didn't show up until the site changed its name to "Seikens Network"
I do remember a site called Mana World. In fact, I recall still having the banner to it somewhere. I wonder if we're talking about the same Mana World.
EDIT: Here it is!

I'm not stupid or blind at all! My memory still works! And in that period that Seikens got it's own domain, the forum was build on Ikonboard.
When Alact, Riesz and Thomas were still important.

Another person who used the name Sheex?
I was never a staff member on any site until Seikens came along.
Thomas is still important : P He helped me fix a lot of problems on the site when Dekky was away.
I remember when Seikens merged together only 3 members from Mana Tree joined the forum, haha. Raggy, Krayola and I were the only ones to make the switch. We were also some of the only active members on the site.
Merging was a really good thing.

Ah, the fun guy. I dont remember him if you didnt mention his name
I believe it was during phpbb time. I dont know why, he just suddenly became an ass and demanded to switch to Invision Board. At that time IB wasnt final version and didnt have a 100% working converter. Many of the members didnt want to lose everything and their so called post count
I dont remember how many times I banned him. I think it wasnt me who banned him

At one point there was someone, way back in... probably 97-98, who had a self maintained mana website. I can't remember the name of it, but I have it saved to HD back at home. I remember it well because it was about the only mana site out there, and I downloaded the whole thing and re-editted the HTML so it would work on HD (my first experience with HTML, back in the time when you couldn't download a whole webpage in one go, and the only editor around was notepad).Sheexy wrote:Another person who used the name Sheex?
