Tale of the Old Nostalgic Kingdom

Posted on August 2nd, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

You’re all feeling nostalgic about the way the site used to update with these each week right?

No?

Oh well you get a song with the word Nostalgic in it anyways. I think Yoko Shimomura must really like that word since it’s used in songs from Lom and HoM. This song is from HoM and it’s a really nice track.

Anyway, updates are coming back. Expect to see the shopping channel and I’ll try to get some other stuff going as well.

Seiken Densetsu 3 Remix Project Needs Your Help!

Posted on July 30th, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

Hey everybody, Rozovian from the Seiken Densetsu 3 Remix project I’ve posted about a few times before (here and here) is looking for help on the project!

This time he’s working on making a trailer for the album and is looking for different videos from Seiken Densetsu 3 to fill it out.

The videos need to be good quality (better than what you can find on Youtube) and of anything you think is especially cool in Seiken Densetsu 3. It can be an awesome battle, your favorite cutscene, your favorite spells or just exploring your favorite location in the game.

Mix it up and be sure to include different characters so the video has lots of variety to it so it can really showcase all the different great things in SD3.

Just make sure you’ve got a good quality video and that it’s around a minute long for each little adventure you include. You can contact Rozovian on his OCRemix profile once you’ve got the stuff.

Thanks for your help!

Legend of Mana coming to PSN

Posted on July 22nd, 2010 by Kassidy Kearey

Via Siliconera

Square Enix set a date for Legend of Mana’s debut on PlayStation Network. Shinji Hashimoto announced the digital version will be ready on July 28 over Twitter. You’ll need 365MB of free space on a PSP memory stick or PlayStation 3 hard drive to run it.

Like other Game Archive titles, Legend of Mana costs 600 yen ($6.50). The PSN re-release has not been announced for any region other than Japan at this time.

Thanks to Kimiko for pointing this out to us.

Mana Music Monthy

Posted on June 1st, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

Ok everyone, I know I’ve missed the last two and I’m really sorry, but things have been really busy lately. And now I’m here to tell you that I’m going to have to miss the next four as well.

But wait, I’ve got a consolation for you! You know how sometimes when I miss something I upload maybe two or three tracks next time? Well this isn’t like that at all. You are only getting one track while I’m gone for the next month, but oh boy what a track it is!

Secret of Mana + – Hiroki Kikuta

Secret of Mana + is the name of the CD and the track, of which there is one on the CD. That’s right, a whole CD with one track on it. And I uploaded the whole thing for you to listen to while I’m gone! It’s a pretty crazy track involving all sorts of music from Secret of Mana, birds, typewriters, telephones and some stuff that’s super creepy.
What is Sheexy talking about you say, has he gone off the deep end? Just listen and you’ll see!

Enjoy this nearly 50 minute long track, personally I believe it’s one of the greatest pieces of Seiken Densetsu music out there.

The first time I listened to this CD I listened to it 23 times straight. Think that one over.

– eBay is still kinda slow, but there are still some nice items to look at this week!

– They’re pretty much the same ones we look at every week though…

– Yeah, but they’re still good! Also there is this Secret of Mana Nintendo Power Poster that is pretty cheap at the moment.

– For people with lots of money the Heroes of Mana Rabite Muffler is still available.

– Music lovers can get the Seiken Densetsu Piano Book or the Guitar Tab Book and learn to play tracks from the games!

– And finally there are the Legend of Mana Manga that everyone loves, you can get the Old Style or the New Style! See you all next time!

MMM – Orphan of the Storm

Posted on May 17th, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

Sorry for the lack of everything last week, I was kind of busy graduating from college and all.

This week’s music is from Secret of Mana and is used as victory music for a few boss fights. I think the reason I picked this should be pretty obvious, haha.

MMM – Color of the Summer Sky

Posted on May 4th, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

Summer comes early for me, as the my last actual class day was today. Awesome.
I didn’t mean to have two town musics in a row, but I think the name of this track is just perfect for this occasion.

There isn’t much of interest on eBay today, unless you are looking for Seiken Densetsu books. Seller japan-ssdyuk always has an awesome collection of Mana books and probably any other Japanese book you could want, and right now pretty much everything is on sale! Also, everything listed by this seller has a “make an offer” option, so you could possibly get stuff for even cheaper than it appears!

Here is a list of the Mana books with the best deals:
Complete set of Original Legend of Mana Manga
Complete set of Re-released Legend of Mana Manga
Seiken Densetsu Guitar Tabs
Seiken Densetsu Piano Scores
Sword of Mana Manga
Sword of Mana Four Panel Comics
Making of Mana Legend of Mana Artbook

And finally there is the CoM and DoM Artbook. Please note that 75 dollars is WAY too much for this book, but if you can take advantage of the “make and offer” and try and get it for around 30 this would be the cheapest way to get the book because shipping for this book is usually around 18 dollars and here it is only 10.

Music Monday

Posted on April 26th, 2010 by Dr. Sheexy

Today’s music is not Mana music, but then again it is Mana music.

This track comes from the Final Fantasy Adventure soundtrack, but it never actually appears in the game.

It is both Mana music and not Mana music. Interesting.

– Whoops, time escaped me last week and I never got one of these up, sorry everyone! I’ve got an important message today though. Seiken Densetsu 3 was never released in English. Some people put a translated ROM onto SNES cartridges and try to pass them off as real. They then set the price at over 100 dollars which is an incredible rip off! If you see these don’t fall for the trick and report the auction so other people won’t fall for it either!

– Not many Seiken Densetsu items go for amounts of over 100 dollars, if you are unsure of whether a price is right please e-mail us on the contact page and we will help you out. Some items will be expensive, like this HoM Rabite Muffler, due to their rarity. Just ask us for help if you are unsure of how rare something is or how much something is worth.

– Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk music! This Seiken Densetsu Piano Book has all sorts of awesome songs in it, and also it is currently 38% off! But wait, there’s more! With this auction you can make an offer on it and see if you can get it for even cheaper! It’s worth a shot if you want the piano scores! If Piano isn’t your thing then what about this Seiken Densetsu Guitar Tab Book? The same 38% off and make an offer auction here, don’t pass up these awesome deals!

– How about some Japanese game guides? You can possibly get this Secret of Mana Adventure Guide for really cheap. It’s got fun one panel comics of each of the boss fights! Or how about the famous Legend of Mana Ultimania Guide? It’s got more information about Legend of Mana than you can possibly wrap your head around!

– Everyone loves the CoM and DoM Artbook. You cannot live without it. It’s impossible. Also, you might like this Sword of Mana Novel Set if you are a collector. There are many more words than pictures, but it has a few pictures in it.

– Finally, collectors might want to pick up this Secret of Mana Nintendo Power Poster or this Legend of Mana Music Collection CD. It’s only got a few tracks on it, but it’s pretty hard to find at a price as nice as this!

– Wow, we sure were pretty heavy on the words today, I guess we were making up for last week! Anyway, see you next week hopefully!
