I wonder whether my excuse of having a lot to do on at work is growing old yet. Rest assured though, I am working behind the scenes here at Seikens too, you’ll just find out at some point later.
Anyway, this week’s MMM is multi-fold, in that we’re bringing you a track, and promoting a currently on-going project.
First thing’s first, Impurfekt over on the Forum is starting a Secret of Mana music project, and needs your help to decide on the track list. So if you want your voice to be heard, head on over to this post, and give him some ideas. If you want to listen to some of his previous work, you can check out his last.fm page.
On to the track for the week, this one is a remix of Hightension Wire from Seiken Densetsu 3, done by Levo Lution. You can purchase his stuff at his webpage. This track specifically is from his 2002 album, Lestia.
Step One: Get home from school.
Step Two: Open up Windows Media Player.
Step Three: Make sure shuffle is on.
Step Four: Press next track until you hit a Seiken Densetsu track.
Step Five: Upload onto ftp.
Step Six: Write news post and put the track in it. The Premonition Begins – Yoko Shimomura

Step Seven: Post news.
Step Eight: Do homework.
Step Nine: Seriously, stop procrastinating and get your work done!
Yes, that’s right. Willy is dead. AT LEAST HE SHOULD BE. *cough*swordofmanawhydidyouruinhischaracter*cough*
I was looking at the little calendar cards that came with my copy of Sword of Mana that came with the fun Rabite finger puppet and Lil’ Cactus thing, and I realized the calendar had a bunch of holidays written on it in Japanese. It turns out the calendar lists a bunch of character’s birthdays as well as other fun little events, so start looking forward to random updates about characters.
Since it’s Willy’s Birthday today, and since he’s dead, I thought we’d listen to the track it plays when he is dying.
Requiem – Kenji Ito

And since that song isn’t very long or happy I uploaded another happier one to celebrate his birthday.
Second Truth from the End – Hiroki Kikuta

It’s the ending theme to Secret of Mana, such a fun and happy track.
I didn’t do the music update yesterday because it’s spring break for me, and I was back in my hometown doing nothing but play videogames with friends, because that is what spring break is all about. Probably.
Since it’s Saint Patrick’s Day I decided the music I’d upload is from Geo, because that is where you do the quest called “Lucky Clover” to reunite Esmerelda the Emerald with the Jumi cores of her three sisters.
Mystic City Geo – Yoko Shimomura

Hope you all have a great Saint Patrick’s Day, remember to wear something green!
I’ve always liked this track from Secret of Mana, I dunno why but it always struck me as interesting. It doesn’t have much to it in terms of music, but it has a whole lot of atmosphere. When I heard it the first time I stood outside of the Mana Fortress I knew something big was about to happen, it just gives off that vibe. Steel and Traps – Hiroki Kikuta

And just to be nice, here is something big! Danger- Hiroki Kikuta
[MEDIA=167]
Danger is one of my all time favorite boss battle musics. You fight almost every boss in Secret of Mana with this one track playing, and it honestly never gets old. It’s big and imposing, but also hopeful at the same time. Definitely one of the best boss tracks of all time.

Well I’ve finally reached my destination for today. Went to my classes at school, and now I’m getting ready to write up three papers that are due at various times this week.
To get ready for writing I open up my music player, shuffle around my musics and hit play.
And Those Who Finally Reached Their Destination – Yoko Shimomura

This is a really cool track from Heroes of Mana, and you can definitely hear some Legend of Mana vibes coming off of it.
Well, I’m off to write some papers, I hope all of you out there finally reach your destination, whatever it may be.
That was super corny right? I can’t believe I typed it. I should be a radio jockey, that’s just too corny.

Valentine’s may be over but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some Valentine’s music right? Well, it’s not really Valentine’s music, just the name is fitting, but anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Ok, Mana Music Monday is back now that I’ve ripped all of my Seiken Densetsu CDs onto my new laptop. And in super high quality too!
This week we’ve got Together Forever by Hiroki Kikuta. This used to be my favorite track back when I was young, and I thought that the Fire Gigas was close to the last boss. Those were the days before I understood what leveling up was.
Enjoy!

It’s Chinese New Years. Or maybe it was yesterday. I’m really not sure, but it is the thought that counts.
It’s the year of the ox, and it’s a shame we don’t have a better sprite of the Gray Oxen from Legend of Mana, but it will have to do.
Here is the music, it’s kind of cold outside, not really though, but this is a nice fun track from Heroes of Mana. The first level where this music plays… not so much fun as it is nearly impossible. But, I had a lot of fun anyways.
A Cold Beat – Yoko Shimomura
