MMM – Wake Up

October 18th, 2010 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Today’s track is shorter than this sentence.

Not Awaken – Hiroki Kikuta – Seiken Densetsu 3
[MEDIA=246]

Well that’s it, the shortest track on the SD3 soundtrack, see you next week for another Mana Music Monday!

Oh it’s not enough music to tide you over? Well okay here is the longest track too.

Return to Forever – Hiroki Kikuta – Seiken Densetsu 3
[MEDIA=247]

Definitely one of the best tracks on the album. If you’ve got almost nine minutes to spare give it a listen through. It’s a nice track which I feel really sums up the music from SoM and SD3 very well. If you didn’t know, Return to Forever is actually a combination of both Repeating Eternity and Legend from Secret of Mana. Both of those tracks feature heavily in the Secret of Mana + album, so if you like this almost 9 minute track you should get that album and enjoy the almost 50 minute track it has.

MMM Extra – Symphonic Fantasies

September 14th, 2010 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Seikens

KassDue for release this month, on the 17th of Sept, is the CD entitled Symphonic Fantasies. Recorded during the concert of the same name 12th Sept 2009 at the Cologne Philarmonic Hall, the WDR Radio Orchestra and Choir, Benyamin Nuss and Rony Barrak, led by Arnie Roth, performed a set of medleys spanning music from Kingdom Hearts, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy.

The multi-track recordings of the concert were edited and mixed at WDR Studios, capturing the best dynamics for all 120 musicians. The final mastering process took place at Abbey Road Studios, in London.

[MEDIA=240]

The track-list and originating tracks are as follows:

Symphonic Fantasies Cover01. Fanfare overture (Jonne Valtonen)
02. Fantasy I: Kingdom Hearts (Yoko Shimomura)
03. Fantasy II: Secret of Mana (Hiroki Kikuta)
04. Fantasy III: Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross (Yasunori Mitsuda)
05. Fantasy IV: Final Fantasy (Nobuo Uematsu)

The Secret of Mana track contains music from “Angel’s Fear”, “Flight into the Unknown”, “Eternal Recurrence”, “Premonition”, “The Sorcerer”, and “Rose and Spirit”, as well as a boss battle encore suite which included “Meridian Festival”.

Each track is in excess of 15 minutes.

For now the CD is only going to be available from Germany, either from the WDR Shop or Amazon.de, and while they do international shipping it’ll cost you a pretty penny. Maz-Sound do shipping outside EU for 6€, which isn’t too bad. Expect international releases to follow later. You can also buy an MP3 version from Amazon.de.

The cost of the CD is between 14,95€ and 19,95€, depending where you buy it from.

MMM – Complicated Destiny

March 15th, 2010 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Today’s music comes from the Dragon story arc in Legend of Mana.

Complicated Destiny – Yoko Shimomura
[MEDIA=219]

I chose this one because it’s basically a two for one deal. It has it’s own little thing going on, and then it breaks into the sad music from the track Bonded by the Soul, and then back again a few times. Then I could have uploaded The One who Waits for the Breath of Destiny and Fiery Castle and everything could have played into each other even more. One thing I really like about Legend of Mana is how much the music for each arc calls back to other tracks used in it, gives a big overall feeling of familiarity with the story and really draws you in. At least that’s what I think. The best part is even though you’re hearing the same music over and over it never gets boring because it’s just so good.

Happy Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year!

February 14th, 2010 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Yeah, I’ll admit I don’t really have anything planned for this update except for this string of Tigers… but if you want some last minute Seiken Densetsu Valentine’s Day card ideas, check out the post I did last year.

Have a good one, everyone!

MMM – Wish Upon a Wendellian Star

February 2nd, 2010 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

For those of you who frequent our Remix section you’ve probably already heard this track before, but for those of you who don’t know about our remix section I’d like to ask first: how did you miss the remix section when it’s up on our top navigation bar? and second: you should really check it out.

This one is a remix of the music used in Wendel in FFA, and it’s pretty awesome. Also the name makes me crack up, because every time I start to whistle the Wendel music I end up whistling “When You Wish Upon a Star” in the end. You can get this track from our remixes page or from the OC Remix Page.

Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens, Shopping

– Hey everybody, it’s New Year’s Eve! There aren’t any good items for sale on eBay this week, so instead of linking goodies we just want to say we hope you had a great year and that you have a great next year too!

– Happy New Year!

– Happy New Year!

– Well guys, I did it. I kept my New Year’s resolution from last year to do a Shopping Channel update every day!

– But what about all those times when the update only said “oh there are no good items today”?

– Yeah, isn’t that like cheating?

– No way, c’mon. That was out of my control, and technically I still put an update up on the site.

– Are you going to keep the same resolution this year?

– Not sure yet, gonna have to think about that. What are you guys doing for your resolutions?

– I resolve to keep dancing!

– I resolve to still be a cat.

– Figures. Well, see you all next year, and Happy New Year again!

MMM – The Fairy Child

November 30th, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Music, Seikens

Kassidy’s wife had a baby! It’s a little girl, born at 11:10 weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces or 3460 grams. She doesn’t have a name yet, but Kassidy will probably let us all know what it is when it’s decided. Congratulations Kassidy!

So in order to celebrate I’ve picked out The Fairy Child from Secret of Mana, it’s the happy theme used whenever Salamando pops up or when you fix Kakkara’s water. And look, we have three versions of it!

I wonder what Kassidy’s daughter will think if she ever learns that a website celebrated her birth by listening to old videogame music.

We should maybe keep this a secret from her.

Shopping Channel

November 19th, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

– Ok, this update is coming through on dial-up, so if we give up halfway and just leave don’t be surprised.

– I’m leaving right now.

– Ok Mr. Moti, it’s just you and me. Moti? Hey where’s he at?

– Just us.

– Alright Lil’ Cactus. Let’s get this over with. I’d like to start by showing This Auction for an English copy of Seiken Densetsu 3. Remember everyone

Seiken Densetsu 3 was NEVER released in English!

Don’t fall for this scam!

-Sneaky scammers.

– That they are. Ok, well here are three guides for pretty cheap. They are all pretty good, especially this Dawn of Mana Map Guide, it’s got some decent artwork in it if you can’t afford to get the CoM and DoM Artbook. Then there is this Seiken Densetsu 3 Adventure Guidebook which is ok. Not as good as the Basic Guidebook though. And of course there is the classic Legend of Mana Ultimania Guide.

Fun comics buy them.

– Yeah, those comics are pretty cool. I guess that’s it though, eBay is almost as slow as my internet connection.

– Bits and bytes.

– Yeah, so, I’m gonna go. Bye Lil’ Cactus.

– I’m still a cactus.

Mana Music Monday

November 17th, 2009 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Ok, got another track from Dawn of Mana this week, but instead of being a nice calm one like last time I decided to pick one of the boss tracks.
