Mana Music Monday – Burning Spirits

Posted on June 2nd, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

So it wasn’t mentioned in the earlier post, but what happened with the server is that it burned the heck down.

Ok so it was just the networking equipment that was damaged; the server ended up taking no damage.
Depending on how you look at it, today’s track is either extremely appropriate or extremely inappropriate. I’ll leave you to be the judge of that.

Burning Spirits by Kenji Ito and Tsuyoshi Sekito, from the Dawn of Mana Soundtrack.

Seiken Densetsu 3 Weapon Scans

Posted on May 29th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Head over to the Seiken Densetsu 3 section in the gallery to check out some scans I’ve made of the weapons from the game.
Seiken Densetsu 3 Equipment Gallery

They aren’t the prettiest scans in the game, but as far as I know these are the only images of the weapons that exist. It’s pretty sad that all this work was put into making these pictures and probably 95% of people who like the game don’t even know they exist. And then the pictures that do exist are all overlapping each other and covered in stupid lines. But oh well, they’re available here now. I’m not sure but I think this might be the first time these scans have seen the light of day on the internet.

Coming up later this week (depending largely on my internet connection) will be more scans from Seiken Densetsu 3 including the armor and items from the game.

Mana Music Monday

Posted on May 27th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

This Monday we’ve got The Other Truth by Yoko Shimomura. This music is used in the Faerie Arc, which not many people like, just like the rest of the arcs it has its own musical themes and they are really nice.

Enjoy the music and expect to see some updates about scans from me this week, and possibly a new section to the Merchandise page.

Mana Music Tuesday

Posted on May 20th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

The music update might be late, but hey, I’m back.
Maybe I will work on stuff?

The two tracks are In Search of the Sacred Sword and Seeking the Holy Sword by Kenji Ito, and they are the same track. The first is from Final Fantasy Adventure and the second is the remake of it for Sword of Mana.

Record of Heroes

Posted on April 29th, 2008 by Kassidy Kearey

Kass AvatarThings have been slow of late, I know. And there have been many reasons for it, most of which you already know. It boils down to the reason I chose this Konata avatar, basically: I’m knackered. It’s 4:30am here, and I’m at work, and I’m still another day away from finishing my week, which like the one before, is 72 hours long. This combined with a very hard time trying to sleep during the day makes for a very tired Kassidy, with not much energy to work on stuff.

But that doesn’t mean that I have given up, no sir. I have plans, and I one of those is the plan to get the others done. I’m not going to promise it’s going to be fast, but I’ll get there. I’ll freely admit, the lack of interest in the World of Mana arc hasn’t help to inspire devotion to coverage, but here at Seikens we aim to provide the best coverage of every game in the series, and we’re damned well going to do that.

So what’s next? Well, we have on the burner several section update, which will be appearing as soon as we can churn them out, a new series of articles in the line, and if somehow someone over at Square decides that, indeed, they are going to give this overlooked series some serious love, we’ll be bringing the news to you as soon as we snag a copy of the press.

My mindless babble aside now, the update for today is relating to Heroes of Mana. As part of the game, one accumulates Records of the events taking place in the game, and these have now been compiled together and are available over in the Heroes of Mana section, under Records. You should be advised, spoilers are a-plenty, but so is some in-game artwork, so weigh it up and work it out.

On the down side though is Sheexy’s brief hiatus, but don’t worry, he’ll be back, even if it means me dragging him back screaming and tying him to a chair while shouting “you WILL generate site content!” myself. All the best of luck with exams and clearing out the swamped-ness.

That’s all from me for now.

MMM – Long Goodbye

Posted on April 28th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Ok, so I’m swamped with a ton of stuff and I haven’t been/won’t be very active lately. When I get unbusy I have promises of new content and new pages etc. etc.
Until then, here is Long Goodbye by Hiroki Kikuta.
