Here there be more monsters!

Kind of a big update.  Plants and oddball enemies are now covered.  Also, I went back and added the Gorgon Eye from Legend of Mana into the Eye section (how on earth did I miss that?!) and the Godbeast section has been replaced by the Divine Beings section and gained an entry on the Mana Goddess from LoM.  (Thanks for the idea on that Anon)

And now for some interesting news:

Final Fantasy Adventure has eightteen normal monsters left.
Secret of Mana has three more normal monsters left.
All of the Seiken Densetsu 3 normal monsters are in!
Legend of Mana has ten more normal monsters.

So I figured us guys running this site deserve some time in the spotlight.
Check out our new comic series!  I’ll update every Thursday with new adventures involving Deques, Kassidy, Faalstar and yours truly.

I’m doing this because I have a lot of great dumb ideas for it rolling around in my head, and also I need to start drawing more.
Heck, once I get done with the Bestiary I might relegate myself to doing nothing but comic updates:  Seikens Stories, Zeroes of Mana and SAM comics.  That would be fun.

Aww!  How cute!
Seventy Five baby Seiken Densetsu monsters found their way into our gallery!

Haha, nah, they aren’t babies, but these show you where the Seiken Densetsu series began!  Check the Final Fantasy Adventure section for scans of all 75 of the original Seiken Densetsu monster drawings!  Scanned straight from my Japanese FFA guide!  This whole collection of enemies is ONLY available here at Seikens!  I’ve only seen a partial scan elsewhere and it was of crud quality.  This is a Seikens exclusive!

As an added bonus, check out the Bestiary!  It has all of these new enemy scans placed in the correct sections.  More pictures to make your reading more enjoyable!

I think this more than makes up for last Wednesday’s update that I forgot, haha.

Right now we only have stuff from over at OverClocked Remix, but we are working on getting more stuff!  Also, only FFA has summaries in it, but I’m gonna knock out the rest of the sections by the end of the week.

Are you ready for a CHALLENGE?!

Presenting the first real contest here at Seikens!  Yes, it is a real contest with a prize and everything!  Um… there will be a prize, I promise.  Something good!  Probably a Seiken Densetsu CD or something.

Anyways, to the contest!

Faalstar, Lester and I will be judging the contest.
Anyone can enter!  Just e-mail your entries to Sheexy At Hotmail Dot Com!
Please save your files as .wav if you can!
There will be four rounds:  FFA, SoM, SD3 and LoM.  Each round offers a possible 5 points for a total of 20.  If there is a tie it’ll be resolved through something from DoM.
You must record at least 45 seconds of whistling with no music playing in the background.
Either remember the track or have it playing on headphones.
I have no idea how long it’ll take y’all to get the tracks to us so I am going to give each of the rounds like two weeks to go on.  There will probably be a hiatus while I am in Japan, but don’t worry, we’ll complete this thing!
Lowest scoring game for each individual will be dropped.
I won’t judge entries until I get all of them in.  It’ll be done randomly, I won’t know who submitted which one until after I score them.

Here there be birds!

Alright, all the birds are in the Bestiary now (Save for those in the newest games).  Kind of a small update, but that is because I am having to sort everything into broader groups now.  All the main groups are pretty much done.  I also added Wall Face and Doom Wall into the Living Objects section.

I’ve got my computer back, but due to the nature of the Bestiary updates ahead there are just going to be small updates now.

Alright, so here is today’s track fresh off my Secret of Mana soundtrack.

The Oracle / The Curse

This track is sometimes called “The Oracle” but today we are using its other title, “The Curse” because a curse seems to have descended upon the computers of Deques, Kassidy and I.  We are currently fighting the Dark Liches that keep popping up around us.

Ah, the Secret of Mana soundtrack.  I remember when I first got it all those years back.  I was like nine or something.  My mom brought me the package the CD was in and I opened it up and threw it into the stereo in the living room.

I would then force my family to sit through the entire CD.
It was an amazing time.
I had fun anyways.

So yeah, enjoy “The Curse” while we try to fight off ours.

Due to several unforeseen circumstances (mainly involving all of our computers being in repairs or not available to us right now), this Monday there isn’t any new music. That is unless someone run in and saves the day at the very last moment. We’ll make up for it next week though.

Promise.

I don’t have a bestiary update for this week because I’ve been kind of a computer scavanger this week.  Everytime one of my roommates gets off their computer I jump on it and do what I can, I just didn’t have time to get the bestiary update together.

I did remove all of the Japanese names from the main index game listings though (Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana listings).  I figured it would make it easier to sort through.

I’ll try to get a bestiary update up next week.
