Koichi Ishii No Longer with Square-Enix

Posted on December 27th, 2008 by Kassidy Kearey

message.pngKassidyBrowsing around this afternoon I stumbled through the article on Wikipedia for Koichi Ishii, and it states that, at least since October, he has left Square-Enix’s Team 8 to dedicate his time to Grezzo, his own gaming development company.

Now have I been living under a rock for the past 3 months? Is this just an unfounded rumour, as I can’t find anywhere else that mentions anything about it?

Do any of you have any information on the whereabouts of Koichi Ishii?

Answers on a postcard…

Sheexy’s Shopping Channel 3 – Christmas

Posted on December 26th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

– It’s the day after Christmas and for today’s Sheexy’s Shopping Channel we’ve got Mr. Moti and Santa here!

– Hohoho, Merry Christmas!

– So how was this Christmas year for you Santa?

– Well Sheexy, to be honest a lot more people were naughty this year.

– I hear that’s because so many people were hoping to get coal for Christmas. Y’know, clean burning coal?

– …Sheexy, did you steal that joke from the news?

– …no… maybe.

– Hohoho, maybe you should have asked for new material for Christmas this year!

– Shut up.

– Hohoho, I know someone who is getting coal next year.

– Clean burning coal?

– Hoho no.

– Dangit.
Anyways onto shopping, starting off I’m happy to announce the price on this Children of Mana Rabite Screen Cleaner has dropped like ten dollars. Just remember, it’s kind of small for that price. But if you love Rabites you might want to go for it.

– If you love Legend of Mana you’ll love the LoM Ultimania Guide! At 595 pages, you cannot find a more in depth guide for this game. It is all in Japanese, but maybe you can still get some use out of it.

– Err, those are like the only two things worth mentioning today.

– Hohoho, that’s because I bought up all the good deals to deliver to good little boys and girls!

– For more deals check out last week and the week before that’s Shopping Channel updates, as many of those deals are still available.

– Yeah, sorry for the lack of good links, hopefully next week there will be more new stuff listed.

– Merry Christmas!

Mana Music Monday – Friends

Posted on December 22nd, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Today’s Mana Music Monday update comes once again from the incredible Let Thoughts Ride on Knowledge composed by Kenji Ito and arranged by Takayuki Hattori.

I picked the track Friends, because Holidays are a good time for friends to get together or give gifts and thanks and stuff.
In other news, I’m trying to justify picking a super Latin sounding track so close to Christmas.

Enjoy the music as it goes through the Birth of the Chocobo, to the Chocobo Theme (the only non-Seiken Densetsu track ever in a Seiken Densetsu game) and finishes up with a pleasant rendition of the Dwarve’s Theme.

Sheexy’s Shopping Channel 2

Posted on December 18th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

– It’s time for the second episode of Sheexy’s Shopping Channel! Christmas is next week, so if you’re still looking for gifts maybe you’ll find something here! It probably won’t ship in time, but late is better than never right? Joining me again is everyone’s favorite salesman, Mr. Moti!

– I couldn’t stop dancing if I tried!

– Unfortunately, Neko won’t be joining us this week because, it turns out he is still a cat. Instead I’ve asked Lil’ Cactus to sit in on today’s installment.

– I’m a cactus.

– I instantly regret asking.
Well then, onto the goods!
The first thing I’d like to talk to you about is the Seiken Densetsu 3 Soundtrack. This beauty comes with three CDs full of all your favorite Seiken Densetsu music! Jump in on this auction and see if you can get it cheap!

– If you are looking for Seiken Densetsu guides full of information, look no further than the Basic SD3 and Advanced SD3 guides. The Basic guide especially is interesting, as it contains many drawings of items, weapons and armor. Check the SD3 Merchandise section to find images and more information. For one day only they are both on sale for 25% off. This is a deal you must not pass up.

Mana Music Memory

Posted on December 15th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

It is really really cold today. While walking to school I had to run across a road and while I was running I remembered I should probably do the Mana Music Monday update today.
Cold + Running + Memory = Memory of Running from the Fieg Snowfields in Legend of Mana.
Enjoy.

Sheexy’s Shopping Channel 1

Posted on December 11th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

-Welcome to the first installment of Sheexy’s Shopping Channel! I’ll be your host, Mr. Sheexy Moti (thanks to nick912012 for this gif), and helping me out with this update today is everyone’s favorite dancing salesman, Mr. Moti!

– Thanks for having me Sheexy!

– Neko the travelling merchant also decided to stop by today and help us out, thanks Neko!

– I am a cat.

– Haha, that you are my friend! That you are.

Ok, onto the update! From now on, every Thursday or when a really rare item pops up, I’ll be featuring some hand-picked auctions from eBay for you to check out! Each of my reccomendations will be for merchandise that I think is worth getting, and I’ll let you know just how much I think should be paid for it, and tell you a little about what to expect from the product. If you’re ever out searching for merchandise on your own, don’t forget to check out the Merchandise section where you can find similar information.

– Sheexy, you are one awesome salesman. Caring for the customer is my number one priority.

– I prefer to rip them off… but to each their own I guess.

– Oh Neko, you silly cat you. Anyway, onto the shopping!

The first product I’d like to introduce you to is this wonderful Sword of Mana 4 Panel Comic Book. Be quick if you want this, it’s ending really soon! Personally I think this is worth the money. Even though it’s all in Japanese, anyone can enjoy the many comics inside poking fun at that game you know, and maybe love, Sword of Mana.
– This comic book is about six by four inches and has 115 pages. Nearly all of them are in black and white, but there are a few colored pages around the middle of the book.

– If that item has got you excited, click the link below to keep reading and find even more deals!

Mana Music Moment

Posted on December 8th, 2008 by Kassidy Kearey

KassidyAdmitedly, we’ve only very recently posted this song as part of Triple M, but after the streaming radio shenanigans this morning, it had to be done.

While hurriedly editing some photos this morning from yesterday’s Fun Run that people from work took part in and listening to Kawaii Radio, what happens to come on?

Hiroki Kikuta – Angel’s Fear (Secret of Mana)

That’s my Mana Moment for the Morning. Bring on the day!

Mana Music Monday – A Wish

Posted on December 2nd, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Here where I live in Texas it’s usually hot nine out of twelve months, but when those cold months hit they hit hard. It’s starting to get pretty chilly here and every time the weather gets like this it reminds me of the Ice Country in Secret of Mana, hence today’s music.
A Wish – Hiroki Kikuta

We have three remixes of this track over in the remixes section:
Cry From the Forest by Kassie! and Mustin (OC Remix page)
Dirge for the Frosty Plains by mp (OC Remix page) and
Ice Crystal Fields Forever by Zeratul (OC Remix page)

So be sure to check those out too.

Mana Music Monday – Raven

Posted on November 24th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Since it’s November and all, I was going to just add the Seiken Densetsu 3 track Harvest November on here, but I did that last year so I went with Raven instead.
Raven – Hiroki Kikuta
[MEDIA=152]

This is a pretty fun track, one of my favorite non-boss tracks from Seiken Densetsu 3.

For those of you in the states have a Happy Thanksgiving this week!
I wonder, if there was a Seiken Densetsu equivalent of Thanksgiving would they eat roast Rabite or stuffed Axebeaks?
Needlebirds?
Eating a Cockatrice sounds like a bad idea… and I’d be afraid cooking a Duck Soldier would result in an explosion.

Mashed Masked Potatoes would be essential.

Mana Music Menace

Posted on November 18th, 2008 by Dr. Sheexy

Ok, so it is a day late, but I’m making up for it by using a really awesome track.

Menace is the second “chapter” of the amazingly orchestrated Let Thoughts Ride on Knowledge, using the music composed for Final Fantasy Adventure by Kenji Ito, and arranged by Takayuki Hattori.

This track in particular includes the music from the Granz Dukedom, Dungeon 1 and Fight 1. It is really an incredible track. The beginning reminds me a lot of Disney’s Fantasia, and the Latin feel the boss track takes on is really addicting.
If you’ve got a chance track down this CD, which is pretty rare, or pick up SD Sound Collections which contains all of the tracks from this CD as well as the original Game Boy tracks in all of their chiptune glory.
