Check, check them out yo!
Also, I’ve started giving titles to all the files in the gallery. Expect all the files to be titled eventually.

Hiroki Kikuta is the guy who did the music for Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3.
Duh.
If you didn’t know that, go stand in the corner and think about what you have done. The rest of you, stay here and listen to what else this guy has done. Consider yourselves enlightened by this experience. Hiroki Kikuta also did one other game soundtrack while working for Square. In 1998 the game Soukaigi came out, and it interestingly it features a track titled “Angel’s Fear Again,” a guitar and piano bit which does not seem to be similar to the “Angel’s Fear” of the Seiken Densetsu series. The track, however, does remind me a lot of “Prayer of the Arctic Circle/Meridian Beast” from Secret of Mana. Perhaps this will be a Monday Music update sometime where you can decide if they are similar.

I know I said there would be one file for download each Monday, but I decided to break that standard (did not take long eh?) and give you four songs this time. They’re kinda short, but hey, there are four.
Why? These songs go together hand in hand. Whether you are feeling calm, happy, mysterious or sad I have got a song for you here.
Serene Tune – Joyful Tune – Mysterious Tune – Sorrowful Tune
If you did not already catch it, these are the songs you play for the Elementals in Legend of Mana when you are trying to get coins out of them, you little street performing monkey you. No, not Cappella, he and Diddle might have a music spotlight later.
Anyways, in the game you cannot use but eight instruments, so you never really get to hear what this stuff should actually sound like. These tracks are collectively titled Music for Magical Instruments: Ensamble for the Holy Spirit.
Be sure to check back next week for Mana Music Monday! Deques has a remix picked out for you all.

Here there be more monsters!
I went ahead and added the next four enemy groups into the Bestiary early because I was working on adding in the alphabetical navigation system that Koopa at the forums told me how to make.
Thanks Koopa!
In the Bestiary you can find the nifty new navigation at the bottom of each page, or in the menu bar on the right. You can now read about Chobin Hoods, Iffish, Knights and Potos! Know your enemy, because knowing is half the battle!

Welcome to The Seikens’ “Who Is” Wednesday!
Koichi Ishii
Most of us Seiken Densetsu fans know who Koichi Ishii is. He’s the father of the Seiken Densetsu series, and the person we pray to every night for new awesome Seiken Densetsu games. Also, he delivers Seiken Densetsu related gifts to us on Christmas. Sometimes he even appears at our front door and says “Hey Sheexy, you want to come and help me run the Seiken Densetsu series?” and I reply, “Totally man, I’ve got so many ideas, this is gonna rock!” “You know, I can make all of your Seiken Densetsu dreams come true right?” “Really?” “Yeah, check this out!” And then suddenly I find myself in a room full of Rabites. And I have a sword. The Mana Sword.

It’s also worth mentioning at this point that Kikuta-san recently launched a solo project containing music that he composed round about the time he started work on SoM, but which was never used in any game. The CD is called Lost Files, and is available for 2700yen from Amazon in Japan.
Monster, monster.

Mana Music Monday!
Yeah yeah yeah! Party time!
Alright, this weekly update may have the most tacky name in existance but I’m sure I can eventually top it!
To start this new weekly feature here at Seikens with a bang I’ve chosen a remix as our featured music for this week. Seikens’ very own Destiny crafted this beauty of remix, “Withink the Fable”.
To be honest, the original version of “Fable” by Hiroki Kikuta is kinda just your average sad sounding song from Seiken Densetsu 3. But Destiny’s remix takes the song at a new angle and makes it sound very adventurous rather than sad. It sounds kinda similar to that of “The Legend” from Secret of Mana. “The Legend,” is the music which plays when you are adventuring through the Cave of Courage.
In fact, the two sound so similar that I might even be led to believe that “Fable” is simply Hiroki Kikuta taking a new direction with “The Legend” like he did with many of his Seiken Densetsu 3 tracks. Throughout the Mana Music Monday feature I will show some tracks alongside one another that you can compare from different games. I’ll also try to get some more remixes put up here for you all to enjoy, possibly leading to a remix music section on the site.
Awesome job on the music Destiny! If you all enjoyed this one check out her site for a few more remixes and tons of awesome original works!

Here there be monsters!
I decided to open up the bestiary earlier than planned, but I’ve got a new idea in mind.  Instead of having a giant mass of sections and subsections for my bestiary (which would have ended up being entirely too annoying to navigate) I decided to go with just a simple list of different families of monsters. Inside each of the family links are information on the monsters in each of the games. The SwoM sections are pretty lacking, but in my defense the monsters haven’t really grown much since LoM. The bestiary is mainly going to focus on the first four games.
So far I’ve only got four monster families up, but that’s ok since I am aiming to add four monster families each week!
Click the link at the very top of the site to get there, we will have an image link on the right menu soon!
Check back every Saturday for some new sections in the bestiary! I’ll also inform you guys of any changes I make to any of the sections. This will be an ever growing project!
I’d also like to point out that Nothing broke!
