Yes, the western world won’t be avoiding this installment of Seiken Densetsu series. Heroes of Mana got a release for North America. The game will be released on August 14th this year.
Heroes of Mana is prequel to Seiken Densetsu 3 and will take place 19 years before it’s sequel. A few characters from SD3 will be returning to this game.
Be sure to save some money for this game, when it is out.

Square’s Battle Tracks Vol.1 has now been released, as was previously announced to happen here. Just to remind you, the CD contains three Seiken Densetsu related tracks (FFA’s “Battle 1”, SoM’s “Danger” and SD3’s “Nuclear Fusion”), though we can now confirm that, sadly, the tracks are not remixed or rearranged at all, so nothing new and exciting (to the point that Danger, or Crisis as they have named it, only loops the once, same as the SoM OST).
Only the track “Last Battle” from Romancing SaGa 2 is remixed.

A new article has been added to the Seiken Densetsu 3 section of our website detailing the wonders of the Debug Room, which will tell you how to access it, what you’ll find there and just how far its features stretch.
Expect more updates after a week or so, as I’m going to be out of the country as of tomorrow (again).

Another album to look forward to next month is Square Enix’s CD entitled “Battle Tracks Vol 1”, which will compile classic battle music from Square’s games for the Famicom systems between 1987 and 1996. Among the composers we can see our local heroes, and, of course, tracks from the games we cover on this site (note, although Shimomura is listed, since this disc only covers Famicom titles, no tracks from Legend of Mana are present).

It’s also worth mentioning at this point that Kikuta-san recently launched a solo project containing music that he composed round about the time he started work on SoM, but which was never used in any game. The CD is called Lost Files, and is available for 2700yen from Amazon in Japan.

Check, check it see.

This little guy notices the changes in the layout, do you?
Awesome job Wai!
A new gallery button can be found underneath the forum button to the right. Be sure to check out the new Seiken Densetsu 3 images uploaded to the gallery, including sketches by a dude named Sasarin who apparently worked on the games. I’d give you more info on that, but his site has unfortunately disappeared.
Also, a big thanks to Duran from the forums for sending me some more pictures for the gallery! Check out the Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 and the Legend of Mana sections for some new stuff. Thanks Duran! And I’ll end this note with this touching scene from Secret of Mana that Duran made himself.

Square Enix has filed a trademark for “Hereos of Mana”. Is this a new game in the Seiken Densetsu series? It seems so since a few developers of this game are from previous Seiken Densetsu games. The game is being developed for Nintendo DS.
Update: I found something interesting after I posted this news. It’s an online petition where fans wanted Seiken Densetsu 3 to be released to the rest of the world. They suggested that “Heroes of Mana” as the “western world’s” name of the game. Could Square Enix finally listened to the fans?

I have updated a few page with some minor errors I found in the Seiken Densetsu 3 section. For example the town names should be correctly spelled.
Yesterday I found a huge mistake in SD3 pages, I totally forgot to update the class information pages to fit the new layout. Its embarassing… They should be as well updated now
