Monster Month! Who’s the Boss?

October 2nd, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Ok today I have a really cruddy drawing of the four bosses that are in our new poll. I did this one really fast because I have to get some guest comics done for a webcomic I read, so the next couple of Monster Month drawings might be kinda crude and rushed.

The poll involves the four bosses that I thought were the most recognizable and the most representative of the series.
So go and vote for your favorite!

Monster Month! Rabites!

October 1st, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Bestiary, Seikens

Guess what kids! It’s October, that means Halloween is upon us! And what better way to celebrate Halloween then by having an entire month dedicated to the monsters we hold most dear to us!
Deques and Kassidy.
I mean, the Seiken Densetsu monsters!

Just what does this so called “Monster Month” entail? Well, each day of this month you can check the site and find a full page of monster sketches by me! I’ve been in a bit of a drawing slump, so this is a good way for me to get to doodling and also update the site, awesome!

Here is today’s sketch of some Rabites!

Also, there are some behind the scenes updates going on at the Bestiary, read on to learn about it.

Final Fantasy Retrospective

September 27th, 2007 | Deques | Filed under Final Fantasy Adventure, Seikens

You may wonder why in a site that is about Seiken Densetsu series is posting anything about the Final Fantasy series. But it does have something with Seiken Densetsu to do. FF Retrospective is about the Final Fantasy franchise in video form. Each week GameTrailer is posting a new video about the series, and will end after 13 parts. In this part, the tenth, you will see a short report about the very first game of Seiken Densetu. The game that started the series. Sheexy will probably love this, since it’s his favourite game of the series.

Final Fantasy Adventure Armor

September 5th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

I was hoping to have this up yesterday, so I could do something fun for the Whatever Wednesday update, but my internet connection and I weren’t getting along very well, so I’ve gotta put it on now.

So anyways, please head over to the Final Fantasy Adventure Armor Page and check out the cool drawings! You know, I find it really crazy that they went this in-depth with the armor and weapon designs, I mean, this is a Game Boy Game! In the game they don’t look anything like these!

The really sad thing is, practically every game ever has drawings like these laying around somewhere, and hardly anyone knows they exist! As a flover of the Seiken Densetsu series I can’t just let these awesome pictures be ignored, so I’m gonna make sure they can be seen!

Not moving quite yet.

August 23rd, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens

Alrighty, I kinda jumped the gun a bit there.
I’m gonna be moving to hang out with my friend probably in the spring, so until then I’m going to be working on my schooling still.

Expect some site updates soon.

Basilisk Hunting!

August 15th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens, Videos, Whatever Wednesday

Ok guys, today I’ve got a special video for you all. What happens when Sheexy is stuck at home bored with a watermelon?
The answer is this:

Watermelon Basilisk!

Look my hair is actually short, this is like, the first time in five years it hasn’t been down past my nose.
Using a marker, some tape and some colored paper I crafted myself an awesome Basilisk. Watermelons don’t last forever, however, so I had to think of something to do with the little guy. So check out the video and see him in his prime of life. Apologies for the terrible Steve Irwin accent and also to my neighbors.

Agreement in Place

August 11th, 2007 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Seikens

Dear members of the Seikens Community,

In light of recent acts of plagiarism infringing upon the rights of the Seikens Network, and with the best interests of both the site and its loyal fan-base in mind, the Administration has taken the necessary step, toward ensuring the safety of the Seikens Network’s intellectual property and continued service to fans of the Seiken Densetsu and World of Mana series, of documenting and publicly making available, in the form of a link at the bottom of the main page layout, an End User Agreement, detailing our policies, stances and proprietary rights.

As valued visitors to the Seikens Network, we greatly appreciate your continued support in our efforts to provide you with the best coverage and information on the series possible, and we are open to receive any feedback on this latest measure put in place to improve our service. This has been done with you in mind; however, if you feel that this may affect negatively in any way upon your experience of the site, then please contact me (Kassidy M Kearey) and I will clarify any points which you feel may compromise your enjoyment of the Service. We feel, however, that this will in fact make for a more positive and safe environment for all members of the Seikens Community.

As ever, this site is maintained by fans, for fans, and we intend to keep our characteristic fun-loving and high spirited atmosphere that has over the years seen us grow as the most in-depth, diverse and loved network covering the Seiken Densetsu and World of Mana series on the web.

Thank you once again for your continued and generous support.

You can also submit your fan arts to Seikens. Use the contact form to contact either of us. We will be gladly to host your fan arts

The original and the imposter

Quote by Kassidy

Plagiarism is the highest form of flattery… But it’s a right arse ache.

It is always nice to see fans that loves our hard work. But when it comes to steal our content and use it for own benefit is way over the edge. We have come to knowledge that our site’s content has been ripped by someone, possible a group of people, and used it on the their own site. This site is called ManaNetwork, a poorly done website by a bunch of newbies who neither can’t design and maintain their content.

Right now their are selling their network on a site called SitePoint. Along the sale are ten domain names included, one domain for each game in the series. I am not advertising this auction, since they are selling stolen content, and that’s what makes me angry. They even got the guts to advertise their auction on our Shoutbox, not only that, the seller sent a mail to me about this auction. What a stupid thing to do, because I am going to stop this auction and do everything until he stop this auction and remove all content that he ripped. If possible also taking the whole network down, but that’s a little too harsh.

The Heroes are Coming!

July 23rd, 2007 | Kassidy Kearey | Filed under Heroes of Mana, Merchandise, Music, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Seikens

Madness? This is Mana!

We’re starting off the week with a bang this Monday at Seikens, because Heroes of Mana will be hitting the western world in just over 3 weeks time. To celebrate this, I’m proud to (finally) open up the Heroes of Mana section for Seikens. Right now only a few of the pages are available, as there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes here, but rest assured that more will come as it is developed.

And because it’s Monday, how better to add to this celebration than to make available to you a piece of music from the game?

Heroes of Mana – Setup

[MEDIA=23]

But if you thought that was all, you’re sorely mistaken, I’m afraid. Sheexy has started work on another new feature for Seikens, in his never-ending quest to take the site to new levels of greatness (and awesomeness). I’ll let him explain:

The Merchandise section is a new feature here at Seikens, in it you can explore the various Seiken Densetsu related goodies that have been released. I’ve got summaries, images and ratings to help you decide what you should buy or for you to read through when you’re bored.

The section is going to be in the works for the next couple of weeks. So far I’ve got Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 and (keeping in line with Kassidy’s update) Heroes of Mana completed and I figure I can knock out a game each week, so there will be a new update coming probably every Friday.

So there you have it, folks. Further proof that we never rest here at Seikens (honest, guv, you should have seen it!).
