New layout on its way.

February 11th, 2007 | Deques | Filed under Seikens

That’s right. I have been working on a new layout in secret. Been doing so for a few months. But not constantly, the new layout is not that perfect. Only few people know about this and have seen some samples, but all samples are scratch and nobody has seen the new and almost perfect layout.
This new layout will ditch the traditional all-games-in-a-horizontal-below-the-header-menu. The game list will be in a sidebar. The color-theme will be green/blue style, similar to current one. Best difference is probably the layout will be wider than the current one, so yay more stuff in small area!!
I have yet to design it, its not complete but I hope its end to completion. I hope it will be finished before next year.
Previews can be found in the forums. At least it will be

Bestiary Update

Basilisks, Grell, Mimics and Sahagin can now be found in the Bestiary.  I have also added the Japanese names of Secret of Mana enemies to the list of monsters, but only if they were different.  Also, if I couldn’t figure out what the Japanese name was I put the translated Katakana after the name as well as (J?) so that maybe someone can help me figure them out.

Enjoy people!

Who is Kenji Ito?

February 7th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens, Whatever Wednesday

Kenji Ito’s Seiken Densetsu days began in 1991 when he composed the music for Final Fantasy Adventure.  In Secret of Mana he worked on Sound Effect Design.  It would not be until Sword of Mana, the remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, that Kenji Ito would lead the music in the Seiken Densetsu series again.  His track “Rising Sun” has become the main theme for the Seiken Densetsu series recently.  More recently he has done the music for Children of Mana and worked on many tracks in Dawn of Mana.

Mana Music Monday

February 5th, 2007 | Deques | Filed under Music, Seikens

Huh, just two updates that are not anything about the music. We really should have something else to update.
Anyway, here is this week’s Music Monday.

Guardian Holy Beast Flammie Ver.1
Guardian Holy Beast Flammie Ver.2

Yes, it’s two tunes for this week. Am I the best, aint I? These two are remakes of the traveling with Flammie music from Secret of Mana. They are short, but they are also good. I wish they were a bit longer

Bestiary Update – Early Again

February 2nd, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Bestiary, Seikens

Happy Groundhog Day!  In a strange coincidence, the update for today includes Molebears and Pebblers.  How weird is that?  I’m getting this up early again because I totally forgot I’m going to an Anime Convention this weekend.  You can also find Griffin Hands, Eyes and Crabs in the Bestiary now.  A little update on the sections: all of the SwoM and CoM information can be found in the main summary at the top of the enemy section, and now it mentions what different parts of enemies (claws, oils, etc.) will do if you use them in SD3.

Also, seeing that I’m just picking the enemies I update at random, I’ll take any enemy requests I get.  Just let me know what you want to see on the board, and you can read about it in the next update!

Alright everyone, I’ve gotta go throw a costume together last minute.

Brownie Brown, who are they?

January 31st, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Seikens, Whatever Wednesday

Brownie Brown is a game development studio funded by Nintendo which opened up in 2000.  Among the people working at Brownie Brown there are many of the artists from Legend of Mana, and the studio was founded by two people who worked on the various Seiken Densetsu games on Gameboy and Super Nintendo.

Mana Music Monday!

January 29th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Music, Seikens

This week at Seikens we’re celebrating how I keep doing updates ahead of time by offering to you this music from Legend of Mana:

Silence of Time

That is right, time is being silent because I flippin’ beat it down.  I made it my minion.  I own time!
So anyways, this song is the last boss music in Legend of Mana.  This plays while you’re taking on the Mana Goddess up in the Mana Tree.  It is a pretty cool battle, as the music would suggest, so I’m not going to spoil any more for you.  If you haven’t played Legend of Mana all of the way through you totally should.

Bestiary Update

January 26th, 2007 | Dr. Sheexy | Filed under Bestiary, Seikens

Ok guys, I’m not sure if I’ll have access to super fast internet this weekend, so I’m getting this Bestiary update out here early.

https://www.seikens.com/bestiary/gfx/bestiary.gifHere there be more monsters!https://www.seikens.com/bestiary/gfx/bestiary.gif

Six more actually!  I’m going to start something new with the updates; boss info pages will only count as half a page when I do them because they are usually short.  So in this case I added four boss pages which equals out to two normal pages.  So basically I did four pages, but six sounds cooler.

Anyways, check out the new pages!

I’ll get around to fixing the SwoM and CoM parts next update.
