Finally, after than a year the gallery is finally coming back. We haven’t really actually done anything to take it back after the last incident last year. But we finally got the motivation to bring it back.
If I recall we were using zenPhoto for the gallery and at that time before everything went down last year we were using a really old version of WordPress. But now we are up to date. Meaning we can use those powerful plugins that are available for WordPress. NextGen Gallery is such plugin, and this is the one we are using for the new gallery.
Right now the are only four categories in the gallery: Cosplay, fan art, Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of Mana. The rest of the categories will be up later (hopefully not next year).
Most of the site should be functional again. The board is up and running.
I have decided to ditch the gallery and find another gallery script to use. The last one didn’t really satisfy my needs even if it was most download gallery plugin for WordPress. I hope I can find a gallery that has the functions I want for Seikens.
Since the site rebuild a number of pages were missing from the Soundtracks section, primarily relating to the Fan Doujin Albums and original composer solo work. These pages have now been restored, and a number of broken links fixed (whoops!).
These will hopefully be expanded upon not long from now to include more recent Doujin work, a few additional compilations in which SD music appears, and the upcoming Arrange albums from the original componsers (Itoken’s one is already there).
Thank you for your continued patience with the on-going restoration.

So I was trying to pick out a song for this week like I always do: a last minute desperate search through my WinAmp library. Going through songs I could use I find myself thinking, no no I can’t use that one I’ve used it before, or I’ve already used that one a couple of times. So I picked one track because I really like it, but I know I’ve used it before, I just didn’t remember when. I decided to search through the old MMM posts to see when I used it, and lo’ and behold it was back in 2007. I just think it’s pretty funny I remember all the tracks I’ve used in the past 4 years I’ve been doing this update, and I wonder why I can’t use that brain power for more useful things, haha.
Anyway, you’ve heard it before if you’ve been with us for 4 years, but here it is again!

Ustream will host a live streaming event featuring music from Square Enix’s SQ Chips game music remix CD on September 29 from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (JST). The CD includes remixed songs from game series like Final Fantasy and Seiken Densetsu (Mana). Thirteen Japanese remixers created the tracks for the CD. Among them, artists DJ OMKT、SEXY-SYNTHESIZER feat.(S_S)、Deadball P, and others will attend and perform at “SQUARE ENIX MUSIC presents SQ Party LEVEL1”. Streaming worldwide, the event will take place at 2.5D in Tokyo.
The SQ Chips game music remix album shipped in Japan on September 7 for the retail price of 1,890 yen (about US$25). Most of the CD’s eighteen tracks are remixed versions of songs from the Final Fantasy role-playing game series. Soul Eater manga artist Atsushi Ohkubo drew the jacket art for SQ Chips. Video game and publishing company Square Enix previously released several other game music remix albums in its SQ Music series.
Ustream hosted a similar live streaming event for the CD on August 3, before the album’s release.

Chad Concelmo writes a series of articles for Destructoid called “The Memory Card” where he writes about his thoughts and experiences with older games.
This week he’s got an article up about my favorite game, Final Fantasy Adventure, and he talks about one of the experiences in the game that I really feel sets it apart from most others. You can read about it here in The Memory Card .98 Killing Medusa, it’s a nice read but only go into this if you’ve already played the game! If you haven’t played the game you really should, it’s a lot different from other GameBoy games and it’s awesome to see where the Seiken Densetsu series started.
Thanks to bastian from the forums for directing us to this article!
The Remixes page is back in action, and in perfect timing (gee golly what a coincidence, huh?), as a new Seiken Densetsu remix has just been posted on OCRemix: Starlight Festival – Kiamet, a wonderful solo piano rendition of Powell from Seiken Densetsu 3 that brings across a sense of urgency through its Latin influence in style. The playing is very precise and includes some very nice harmonies and added textures on top of the original melody. The sound quality is exceptional.
